Last week, during the @designphilly festival, GPA held our SDG Panel: Extreme Weather and the SDGs event at the Philadelphia @fprinews.

With help from moderator, Mathy Stanislaus, Vice Provost and Executive Director of The Environmental Collaboratory, @drexeluniv and panelists:

Alexandra Grubb (Corporate Communications Director of Sustainability, @essity), Thi Lam (Deputy Director, @seamaac), Erin Mooney (Executive Director
@schuylkillcenter), Calo Rosa (Community Activist and Painter of SDG 13, @caloblacksand) reflected the many dimensions of climate action across art, community resilience, education, and corporate sustainability.

Thank you to all of our attendees that participated in our event and hope you enjoyed learning about the SGDs in Philadelphia’s communities!

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent Community Printmaking Workshop with Design Philadelphia ✨

On October 10, followed by a guided tour of current exhibitions, participants attended a Woodcut Workshop with Masterprinter Alexis Nutini (@dos_tres_press ) and a Monotype Workshop with Masterprinter Justine Ditto (@justine.ditto ) at Brandywine Workshop and Archives. Thank you to all participants and attendees, hope to see you again on the 23rd for the third edition of Print & Sip, and one of the very last chances to visit our exhibition PrintLab: Material Futures.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our studio during this year’s @designphilly Festival! 🎉

It was a pleasure to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new connections, and share a glimpse into what we’ve been working on.

Evenings like these are a reminder of the value of bringing Philadelphia’s design community together to exchange ideas, build relationships, and celebrate the work shaping our industry.

Thanks for a great evening! We look forward to connecting again soon.

Philly, you showed up❤️

82 events across the city, from a fashion show in the SEPTA concourse to woodworking workshops, brewery conversations about modern waterproofing showrooms opening, a 30+ vendor market, and behind-the-scenes tours of a steel factory. That’s DESIGN REVOLUTION in action.

A huge thank you to the sponsors, attendees, vendors, volunteers, and local partners who made it happen. And a special thank you to Forman Arts Initiative for opening your doors and helping us kick off the festival in such a special way.

What makes this festival special is the people behind it. The makers, the designers, the curious neighbors, the small businesses, and everyone who believes Philly is a place where good ideas and good design can take root.

That’s the power of this community. Thanks for being part of it. by @designphilly

At the end of September, @designphilly opened its 2026 festival with the annual Kick-off + Awards Celebration, recognizing designers whose work is shaping the city and the field. WRT’s Anjelica (Anjel) Soesanto (@soesanto.anjelica), Architectural Designer Level II, received the Emerging Professional Award, which honors designers with ten years or less in practice who have shown exceptional talent and a clear sense of where design is headed.

DesignPhiladelphia’s awards are driven by community nominations, put forward by the people who see the impact of design firsthand. Anjel was nominated by Michael Spain and Liza Niles from Design Education at Design Philadelphia for designers who are making a strong impact on our community.

Since joining WRT in 2022, Anjel has worked on built projects from design to construction like FDR Welcome Center, Wilmington Friends School, Springside Chestnut Hill Theater, and currently is in the design phase for the Bartram Education Center. She has worked on master plan projects for the Out of Door Academy in Florida, Rutgers Preparatory School, and Watershed Institute Campus Plan in New Jersey. We spoke with her about the award, the work behind it, and what comes next.

Rain? Never heard of her. 🌧️➡️🎨

The Philly Design Market goes down TOMORROW, Sunday 10/11, from 12-5pm in the Walnut Locust Street Concourse @septaphilly and this is the easiest way to get underground. 👆

We’re on rain or shine, and honestly a rainy Sunday is the perfect excuse to spend the afternoon with us: great vibes, music, art installations, and a whole lot of local makers.

PLUS the Birds kick off at 9:30am 🦅💚 so catch the game; then head straight over to celebrate (or shop away your feelings).

See you down there! 🖤

Celebrity scenes from the last Beaux Arts Ball at an abandoned & newly refurbished $300M estate - excited to announce the epic return of the long awaited event experience, this time at @girardcollege.

Saturday October 24th we don our glitzy gowns & tailored tuxes for perhaps the swankiest (& sultriest) black tie gala in the Mid Atlantic. The Beaux Arts Ball centers around deeply intriguing venues where architects, designers, artists, and creatives come together for an evening of elaborate costumes and community. Hosted by @designphilly and @aiaphiladelphia, this event is one of a kind, held only once a year, and continues to turn heads.

Now, the Ball returns at Girard College with the theme “Be Revolutionary: America Turns 250.” The evening will bring together hundreds of guests for an immersive black-tie experience featuring installations, live performances, creative fashion, tarot card readers, and fantastic food and drink. Hit me up for $50 off tickets! 🕺🏻🥂
