History frames contemporary life.In a tenement from 1890 in Gdańsk’s Wrzeszcz, Raca Design Studio reconfigured the “Wa10” apartment for family living with clarity and calm. The layout was reshaped to fit three proper rooms, a generous kitchen with dining area and a bathroom, balancing logic and fluidity.Japandi sensibilities inform the design, paired with subtle mid‑century modern accents. Muted green, brick red, warm off‑white and dark wood create a natural base, with black and burgundy details adding quiet energy.Custom built‑ins with vertical slats evoke a refined rhythm, and light travels softly through the loggias, connecting spaces with life and depth.📐 @racadesignstudio📷 @zasoby.studio#interiorarchitecture #interieur #japandistyle #midcenturymodern #customjoinery by @designplusmag

Structure first, comfort second, expression naturally follows. The Antony Chair reveals the engineering logic that defines the work of Jean Prouvé.A bent plywood shell rests lightly on a steel frame, creating tension between weight and visual lightness. Every line feels necessary. Nothing decorative, nothing excess. The chair reads almost like architecture scaled to the body.Produced by Vitra, the Antony remains a study in construction honesty. Materials are allowed to behave exactly as they should, forming comfort through structure rather than padding. An object that explains itself without words.Design reduced to reasoning.⭐ @vitra#interiordesign #designclassic #modernfurniture #chairdesign #midcenturydesign by @designplusmag

Playfulness, reduced to its purest form. The Eames Elephant balances between toy, sculpture, and design icon, proving that seriousness is never a requirement for good design.Originally developed by Charles Eames and Ray Eames, the elephant explores molded plywood technology through softness rather than rigidity. Gentle curves replace sharp edges, turning industrial experimentation into something instinctively approachable.Produced by Vitra, the plywood edition highlights material honesty. Warm surfaces, visible grain, and precise craftsmanship allow the object to age with quiet dignity.A small figure with lasting presence.Design that speaks to both children and adults, without changing its language.⭐ @vitra#designobject #designclassic #modernfurniture #plywooddesign #designicon by @designplusmag

A chair that refuses neutrality. The Heart Cone Chair transforms seating into presence, sculptural, playful, unmistakably confident.Originally conceived by Verner Panton, the form breaks away from traditional typologies. The flared base anchors the body while the enveloping backrest creates a private spatial moment, almost architectural in scale despite its compact footprint.Produced today by Vitra, it remains a symbol of radical optimism from the era when furniture dared to be expressive rather than polite.Less object, more attitude.A chair designed to be noticed, and remembered.@vernerpantonofficial x @vitra#interiordesign #designobject #modernfurniture #designclassic #contemporaryinterior by @designplusmag

Bollbacken Housing explores how density can still feel calm.Designed by Söderberg Söderberg, the project rethinks living through restraint rather than spectacle. Volumes are carefully arranged to follow the terrain, allowing buildings to step gently through the landscape instead of dominating it.Warm timber surfaces soften the geometry, while shared outdoor spaces become extensions of everyday domestic life. Circulation paths feel informal and human scaled, encouraging encounters without forcing them. The architecture succeeds quietly. Not by adding more, but by placing just enough.📐 @soderbergsoderberg📸 Mikael Olsson #architecture #housingdesign #haus #scandinavianarchitecture #residentialarchitecture by @designplusmag

A house shaped by weather rather than protected from it.Beach Road House stands on the Atlantic edge of Connemara, where wind, rain, and shifting light define daily life. Instead of resisting the climate, the architecture turns natural forces into experience. Wide overhanging roofs create shelter, while exposed gutters transform rainfall into a visible event, allowing water to move through the building as part of its atmosphere.Concrete buttresses anchor the structure against coastal winds, giving the exterior a quiet strength. Inside, the spatial language softens. Curved walls, slender structural elements, and carefully framed views create a sense of refuge that contrasts with the rugged landscape outside. The house feels less like an object placed in nature and more like a calibrated instrument responding to it. Architecture that comes fully alive when the rain begins.📐 @ryanwkennihan📸 @shantanustarick#architecture #irisharchitecture #coastalarchitecture #contemporaryhouse #residentialarchitecture by @designplusmag

A civic building shaped by landscape and responsibility. The Fire Station in Liden stands as quiet infrastructure rather than architectural spectacle. Positioned along the Indalsälven valley, the building responds to terrain, climate, and the realities of rural emergency work. Visibility, accessibility, and clarity of movement define every decision.Concrete anchors the lower level where vehicles and operations demand durability. Above, timber construction introduces warmth and human scale, balancing technical precision with everyday occupation. Large glulam beams span the vehicle hall, allowing openness, daylight, and clear visual connection through the building toward the surrounding landscape. It is architecture built for readiness, but also for waiting. A workplace designed to support people before, during, and after the moment of urgency.Public architecture at its most honest rarely tries to impress. It simply works, and becomes part of the community.📐 @kod_arkitekter📸 @mansbergphotography#architecture #civicarchitecture #publicbuilding #scandinavianarchitecture #contemporaryarchitecture by @designplusmag

Steel does not usually set a mood but this one does.Designed by @___.dpt for Nightcall bar, this ceiling piece is built from brushed aluminium panels joined by exposed rods, housing conical downlights that shift color and rhythm throughout the night. It is a functional object first. Four modular squares, precise joinery, industrial in material and method. But programmed light changes what an object is. The same fixture reads differently at midnight than it does at opening. The bar does not need art on the walls. The ceiling is enough.🎥 @evg.baranova#LightingDesign #InteriorArchitecture #AmbientLight #HospitalityDesign #BarDesign by @designplusmag

Nine candles. Nine separate acts of attention before anything begins.Frame 09 is the latest piece from Studio Douze Degrés, continuing their ongoing exploration of optics and light. The piece is activated entirely by candlelight. No switch, no plug. What powers it is the time it takes to light each one, a slow, almost choreographed gesture that becomes part of the experience. The object does not perform until you do.🕯️@studio.douzedegres Presented at @collectiblefair Brussels.#designplusmag #designobject #lightingdesign #contemporarydesign #objectdesign by @designplusmag

Nothing is fixed. Every edge moves.Twist and Fold is a table lamp designed by @___.dpt that adjusts not with a single pivot but across multiple panels, each bending and turning independently. The result is a lamp that changes character entirely depending on how it is set. Work light in the morning. Ambient glow by evening. The aluminium frame holds the configuration until you decide to change it.Designed to live in a room the way a small installation would.#lightingdesign #tablelamp #industrialdesign #objectdesign #contemporarydesign by @designplusmag

Height becomes presence. In a new building in Mokotów, this apartment designed by Karolina Jackowska of @pracownia_onuko uses its uncommon 3.5-metre ceilings to create a sense of ease and volume. The plan is clear and thoughtful, letting everyday functions unfold without barriers. Warm neutrals and layered light shape each zone while the lofty volume stays calm and inviting. Here space feels generous without noise.📸 @kroniki#interiorarchitecture #loftyspace #modernresidence #archilovers #interiordetails by @designplusmag

Movement becomes space, and history breathes with presence. In Madrid’s Casa ROC, cumulolimbo studio preserved layers of time while shaping a fluid sequence for daily life. A scriptwriter’s wanderings inspired curving paths, exposed wall strata and shifting floors that connect kitchen, living and work zones. Warm light and subtle colour dialogues give each corner a quiet resonance. Here presence grows from path and surface.📐 @cumulolimbo_ 📸 @juliotavolo#madridinteriors #historicrenovation #interiorarchitecture #interiordesigners #craftedspaces by @designplusmag
