For this home, for this space, it had to be an Egyptian Master.

The Moon and the Messenger, 63. An installation truly close to our hearts.

We designed it for Au Coeur du Nil at @tamara__haus The room held 63 handwoven palm-frond rugs made by @sleysla , each named after a word drawn from the prophet Sira.
Sand underfoot, a moon cast through the greenery experience by @flowerbar_egypt and calligraphy made by @nedalbadrcalligraphy glowing in soft green light made the space feel like a still night on the outskirts of Madina.

Throwback | Cairo Design Week 2025

The Tailor’s Atelier, 1956.

Last year at @cairo.design.week , we took you back to Milan in 1956, to a tailor’s atelier crowded with fabric, sketches and half-finished dreams. A tailor worked live at its center, needle in hand, while the room around him told the story. @etro brought bold patterns and couture roots. Saint Louis filled the space with crystal light. Madar, our supplier partner, was the thread that tied it all together. It wasn’t a showroom. It was a living tableau, where furniture and light became couture and the tailor’s craft became the language of design.

Another summer in the studio wrapped — proud of what this group built, and already looking ahead to next year. To everyone who applied and wasn’t part of it this time, we hope to welcome you in a future round.
To this year’s interns — thank you for the energy you brought into the studio. by @designpointegypt

Presentation day for our summer interns — the point where the work they’ve built gets shown, and where mentoring becomes a two-way exchange. Every group brings a different way of seeing things.

Mentoring is something the whole team takes real pride in. Every year we get more applications than we have the capacity to take on and we hope to welcome the ones we couldn’t this time in the years ahead.

To this group — thank you for the new perspective. We wish you the best in your design journey, wherever it takes you next.

Behind the scenes of a project we can’t wait to reveal soon, with a brand that truly values similar aspects to us at Design Point Studio — heritage, culture, and craft, made entirely in Egypt.

That shared perspective is what made working with Nuniz so meaningful. We were also moved by the relationship between @itscoco___ and @nadiazarkani , and we always value working with that kind of human bond. Bringing their vision to life inside the Grand Egyptian Museum was an honor and this is just the process — the final reveal is coming soon.

Sourcing art is a big part of how we design. The FF&E team, alongside our summer interns, spent a
morning visiting @ubuntuartgallery then @picassoartgallery in Zamalek — looking for pieces that could fit the projects
we are working on.

Every piece gets weighed against the same questions:
does it suit the space, does it hold real value, does it fit
the client’s taste and budget. It’s a process our interns
are part of from day one, not just watching it happen.

Art and design aren’t separate conversations here —
it’s a distinction we take seriously, in the studio and in
this years internship program.

The details make the room: a hand-turned bobbin mirror, brass accents, and a custom stool upholstered in pattern — all framed by the river.

Brass in motion. A rail of elongated loops, handmade and placed to catch the light differently with every step down — close enough to touch, warm enough to hold.
