8 years 🤍

Today makes 8 years since the accident that changed my life forever. Every year when this day comes around, I feel so many different emotions 🥹

I’m beyond grateful to God because I know that day could’ve ended so differently. I’m so so grateful for every single person who prayed for me ! ( I really had an army praying for me ) Thank you to everyone that showed up for me and loved me through one of the hardest times of my life. I’ll never stop thanking God for giving me another chance at life 🙏🏾

But at the same time, I’d be lying if I said I don’t still get sad about it sometimes. No matter how many years go by, I have a reminder when I look in the mirror. I try my best to just be grateful that I’m still here but a part of me will always wish it never happened.

The first few years were HARD. Trying to adjust to this new version of me, I just felt so lost, like I would never be “Destinee” again. There were so many things I told myself I’d never be able to do again. And now I look at myself… doing what I love, working out, being an amazing mother to my kids, trying new things and just LIVING my life 🥹

I don’t know if I’ll ever fully understand why I had to go through it but I do know God has continued to show me over and over again that my life still has a purpose.

So yes today I’m grateful, although a little part of me is still sad. Both can be true and that’s okay 🤍

I didn’t realize how much tension I was holding in until I got my @sacredstretchings 🤍
My body needed this reset so bad!!!!

Lisa knew exactly where to stretch and release the pain my body had🥹
