Divine Mother represents ancient wisdom and spirituality and creation from the woman’s perspective. Her position represents the comfort given when sat in your motherā€s lap. In ancient Egyptian culture all rulings was vetted through the King’s mother. Kings sit on throw a because he sat on his mother’s lap first. This was sympbilism the Egyptians used before colonization. The egg represents the womb and fertility while the pomegranate represents intuition.

There’s a lot to explain here but this is the just of it. Let me know your thoughts! ✨

Hi everyone!

I’ve gained a lot of new followers recently so I wanted to take the opportunity to officially introduce myself.

My name is Destiny Blue. (This is my name not just an artist name, I get that alot lol) I am 26 (about to be 27) and I am from Fayetteville NC but currently creating in Charlotte NC. I consider myself to be a creative and visual artist. When I’m not painting I’m loving on my newborn baby girl, (first time mom), visiting art museums, reading, and spending time with love ones. I secretly would love to write a book. Maybe one day soon.

I mainly use acrylic paints but I love experimenting with mixed media and unconventional materials. I’m a clinical social worker by trade assisting children and teens improve their mental and emotional well being.

A lot of my work involves symbolism, texture, and colors to highlight the beauty of black people and spiritual topics. I create intuitively but also gain a lot of inspiration from everyday life and knowledge. Art has been my main form of expression and way to cope with childhood trauma and life’s challenges since I was young. My overall intention is to help others do the same.

May 24,2025 6pm-10pm I will have my very first solo exhibition! Flyer dropping soon.

Subscribe to my monthly newsletter for behind the scenes content, discount codes, exclusive access to my website and be the first to know about upcoming events.

If you’re here, I love you!

Liquid Gold
Acrylic and Mixed Media on Stretched Canvas
20x20
2026

Inspired by my breastfeeding journey with my baby girl. We stopped nursing in March and it was a bittersweet transition that I thought I was ready for. The shift in hormones, the knowing that she doesn’t need me in the same way anymore. The gratitude that comes with the realization that my breastmilk provided more than 200 minerals and nutrients to this little person over a course of 395 days.

With my body of work revolving around Womanhood and Motherhood i definitely could have had a sale lol.
I love creating but do not love selling or marketing online. I enjoy getting in front of people and seeing who resonates with my work. But fees and things stop me from applying to certain opportunities. I wonder how other artists overcome this. My current season of life also stops me from getting out sometimes. Trying to lean more into what works for me and not worrying about the masses. But with that said, if you’ve had your eye on any of my pieces let me know so we can work something out!

This piece is the first in a small series that honors the different stages of motherhood. More to come šŸ’• by @destinyblueart

Last night at the Kindred Visions Opening Reception at @artscouncilfay. Thank you to @antoinneduanejones for curating and selecting my piece. Super grateful for the opportunity to be back in my hometown with my family, connecting with fellow artists and community members. A lot of people noticed and appreciated the symbolism in my piece.

Kindred Visions is open now through March for Black History Month. There’s some really great pieces in the show, all highlighting Afrofuturism. It’s definitely worth the visit. by @destinyblueart

One of my favorite pieces I created last year, while pregnant. It was hard to complete because standing up to paint can be extremely uncomfortable at 7-8 months pregnant and was dealing with some feelings about how my body looked, in real time and the portrait. A lot of my work is personal and offers a space of healing. Now baby girl points and smacks the canvas trying to teach her to be gentle and respect the art lol

An ode to motherhood, honoring the process and becoming a new woman. My next body of work will include the different aspects and seasons of Motherhood such as breastfeeding, baby wearing etc.

Postcards of this piece are available for sale on my website. This would be a great gift for a mother to be, or someone currently postpartum. I’d love to create a conceptual piece for someone soon! If that interests you, send me a DM.

Excited to announce that Original Angel has been selected to be apart of @artscouncilfay ā€œKindred Spiritsā€ curated by @antoinneduanejones

Open reception is next Friday January 23rd from 6-8pm at the Arts Center Gallery Fayetteville NC. This exhibition will be on view from January 23rd- March 1st 2026. Original Angel will be available for purchase. For those that don’t know, I was born and raised in Fayetteville NC. Being a young girl visiting this exact gallery it’s definitely a full circle moment šŸ¤

I started creating Original Angel around this time, early 2024. It took until about August to complete her fully. She was the start of my current body of work.

As I prepare to start a new body of work and reflect on my previous one, the opportunities and connections these pieces have made I am proud of the direction my work has taken. I’ve taken sometime to figure out and refine the purpose of my work.

All original pieces are available for purchase and can be found on my website linked in bio. Payment plans available for originals.

I have a few updates to share with you all so here’s an Excerpt from my newsletter for those who are not subscribed ~

ā€œI quit my job back in July and have been a stay-at-home mom for 6 months now. It’s a life that I’ve dreamt of but took a lot of adjusting to. Rewiring my brain to know what I do every day is enough. That being who I am is enough. That rest is my birthright. I also just passed my Licensed Clinical Social Work Exam, which I am extremely proud of. I have a few more housekeeping things, then I will be a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

With that, an intention of mine this year is to offer healing spaces and therapeutic workshops for those who may need support outside of the traditional therapy office. More details on this soon. I am still in the planning stages and hope to bring it to fruition by the springtime. Follow my other page @healingthroughartt for updates.

If you’re an artist or a healing arts practioner let’s collab! I’d love to work with you.

2025 brought me my sweet baby girl, my family, my first solo art show, and so many amazing opportunities. But this year was also a year of loss. Loss of friendships, and even parts of myself that I wasn’t ready to give up yet. But becoming a mother takes a kind of stretching that is necessary. ā€œ

I’m excited for what 2026 brings for my family, career and artist journey. I’m praying for abundance and ease for us all. May our hearts stay pure and filled with love despite the wicked things of this world. Protect your people and do what’s best for you šŸ¤

Portrait study of my baby girl. She’s 4 months in the reference picture. A monumental time during our postpartum. She could use a few more layers but I declared it finished so I could move on to other ideas.

Been taking much needed time to rest, rejuvenate and think about my creative practice. How I want to feel and how I want others to feel while viewing my work. Everyday for the past couple months I have added something to this piece. More recently started adding daily affirmations. Each color and symbol represents how I was feeling at the time I created it and tells the overall story of Life.

Have some announcements for the New Year coming soon! by @destinyblueart
