quick trip down to mt rainier yesterday to see the fall colors 🍁🍂

we had limited time so we opted for the naches peak loop which was 3.5 miles, took us 2 hours and we finished it up right as the sun was going down.

we ran into snow ⛄️ on this hike so get your fall hikes in soon before the season is over. my next goal is to see the golden larches.

i’ve been wanting to get a bike for awhile, and i finally did it 🚲

(ad) moving to seattle made me want to spend more time outside and less time in my car, and an e-bike especially appealed to me because… hills 😅

i also hadn’t been on a bike regularly in over a decade, so having that extra assistance took some of the pressure off while i got comfortable riding again. after spending some time with the aventon pace 5, i’m honestly surprised by how quickly it felt natural.

now, a quick coffee run can turn into an afternoon by the water, and i love having a new way to explore the city. plus, the security features in the aventon app and removable battery give me extra peace of mind as a first-time e-bike rider.

(ad) a little reminder that living in seattle means we have some pretty incredible weekend getaways right in our backyard ✈️🌊

we took @harbourair’s seaplane from seattle to victoria, bc for the first time, and 30 minutes later we were landing right in the heart of victoria. the views over the water were gorgeous, the flight was surprisingly easy, and suddenly victoria felt like the perfect little escape from seattle.

the seattle → victoria route runs through september 30, and vancouver → seattle runs through october 14.

definitely one of the most unique ways i’ve traveled around the pnw, and i’m already excited to do it again. 🫶🏼

still not over my first visit to the north cascades. the water was so dreamy… and cold! but zero regrets doing my first glacial water dip. i’m still constantly in awe that i live so close to views like this in the PNW.

fun fact: although i went past the park entrance & visitor center, this hike was technically just outside of the national park so i didn’t actually go in… so now i have to come back and do some more hikes. please let me know if you have north cascades recommendations!

we’ve been in this apartment for 4 months now (where does the time go?!) and it feels like it’s all starting to come together. we’ve been very intentional about maximizing efficiency with a space this small. what i’ve learned that you can’t rush the process. we’ve also prioritized natural, sustainable materials as often as possible and shop secondhand first, which requires another layer of patience.

spent a few hours in the north cascades sunday. it was my first time visiting. the bright turquoise blue of the water was so dreamy and felt like magic. 💫 i took my first cold dip surrounded by mountains. i ate my favorite snack. i can’t wait to plan more trips and hikes here soon. let me know your north cascades recs! 🏔️
