“Sentier”. A two-in-one pair of jeans that converts into jorts. For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a pair of trousers that could move between the city and the mountains. Something that could adapt to different uses, different environments. I wasn’t really sure how to make it happen. I wanted something that looked good, something I could wear just as easily in the city as in the mountains. Because growing up in Grenoble, you often end up wearing the same clothes in both places. And jeans are probably what I wear most in everyday life. So, taking inspiration from hiking trousers, I created a convertible pair of jeans. Made in Portugal from a brown cotton twill, the fabric contains 40% recycled cotton and 60% conventional cotton. The brown colour is a nod to the mountain trails that inspired them. The fit is quite baggy, just the way I like to wear my jeans. So, what do you think of Sentier so far? The mountains. That’s the world of Deux-Mille. I’ve spent almost my entire life in the Alps. The brand was born from that. From everything we feel when we head up there. From all those adventures on mountain trails. From fields of spring flowers stretching as far as the eye can see, like an ocean. Or those fiery peaks, tinted pink by the evening sun, reaching towards the sky as if trying to conquer it. The mountains have always been at the heart of what I want to express, the very subject of Deux-Mille. In the outdoor industry, the mountains are often used as a backdrop to showcase a product. With Deux-Mille, I want to turn things around: to use clothing as a way of talking about the mountains. I want to create clothes that remind us of that happiness, that joy of going to the mountains. Clothes that make us want to escape to the peaks when life down in the valley gets too heavy. And I’ve brought all these emotions, all these thoughts, together in one phrase: “Montagne, mon amour.” Because I believe the mountains have this magnetic power to make us experience life more intensely. Deux-Mille™ is back. I think I’ve been a bit absent lately. Actually, last year, I went back to school at OSV in Annecy to study outdoor product design. It was fascinating. But unfortunately, it also meant I had much less time to work on the brand. With so little free time, I basically had to choose between two things: working on the products or working on communication. I decided to focus on the products. I’ve been working quietly all these months, after classes or after work. Especially on the piece I’m going to introduce during this campaign. Now that I’ve finished my studies, and after spending 6 months interning at Fusalp, where I kept learning so much, I’m finally working full-time on Deux-Mille. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on the communication and figuring out what I really want the brand to be. I went back to the drawing board and started almost everything from scratch. There have been a lot of doubts along the way, but I feel more certain than ever about the direction I want to take. I’ve also met so many people who have taught me so much and helped reshape the future of the brand. This campaign is going to be a mix of studio and mountain photography, but also some of the photos I randomly took in the mountains or of the books I read. I really hope you’ll enjoy this new chapter of Deux-Mille. Deux-Mille™ is now available at @mercidistillery in Grenoble. MerciDistillery is one of the places where Deux-Mille™ truly began. It’s there that I made some of my first connections with people from the outdoor world, discovered this community, and found part of the energy that pushed me to start the brand. So having Herbier des Alpes and Étoiles available there now, in Grenoble, the city where Deux Mille was born, means a lot. This is the first shop ever to carry the brand, which makes it a special one for us. Only a few sizes are available, but you can now come by, discover the pieces in person, feel the quality, and try the fit. MerciDistillery
