Meet my little **starfish mug** ⋆｡𖦹 ˚ 𓇼 ˚｡⋆

It actually started as a night sky-inspired piece, but my boss said the glaze reminded her of a starfish resting in the sand and I haven’t been able to unsee it since. 🐚 🌊𓇼🫧𓆉𖦹☆

This was never meant to be a finished piece, just a fun test of recycled clay, studio glazes, and new construction ideas. But it ended up teaching me so much about glaze application, layering, and embracing unexpected results.

Sometimes the test pieces become your favourites𓇼

the spiral mug 🌀 I love a mug with a fancy handle this one taught me so much. It was also a little wonky, but what fun it has been to create this!!! 🦢

Love the little surprises that come from glazing ✨

First time experimenting with these studio glazes and recycled clay, and I honestly didn’t expect these beautiful rustic tones and textures 🤎

There’s something so special about letting the clay and glaze do their own thing little imperfections, earthy colours, and unexpected results that make each piece unique

Can’t wait to keep experimenting!

back in the studio making these delightfully goofy little mushroom boxes 🍄🤎

i’m still experimenting with how to hand-build them so they balance and sit at different angles, but that’s half the fun. every piece teaches me something new, and i love watching an idea slowly take shape through trial, error, and a little bit of curiosity.

🦋 painted this butterfly while thinking a lot about transformation how growth often feels less like a straight line and more like a spiral 🌀

butterflies have always felt symbolic of becoming to me; soft, temporary, delicate things constantly changing shape. the spiral felt like a reflection of inner movement too returning, evolving, learning the same lessons in new ways

i kept being drawn to purples and greens while painting this piece. purple for introspection, imagination, and emotional depth, and green for healing, balance, and renewal

i think this painting became less about perfection and more about the feeling of slowly becoming someone new 🦋

since the start of the year, i’ve been slowly experimenting with little watercolour paintings 🌱
i’ve especially loved working with sparkly paints and exploring underwater colours and textures deep blues, soft greens, washed purples, tiny shimmering details ✨✨✨

there’s something so calming about painting small and taking time with all the little details. i think i’ve always loved creating tiny worlds 🐠🐟

these are just little experiments for now, but i’d love to keep sharing more small paintings as the year goes on 🦋

A fish carries a small woman inside it, holding a flower, holding scales, moving through something vast and unseen. Sometimes she is obvious, sometimes she disappears into the body of the fish itself.
It feels like a glimpse of an underwater story I once knew from childhood something like Rainbow Fish, something half-remembered, half-imagined.

no matter where life takes me, i always seem to find my way back to making things with my hands

i think i’ve always been searching for beauty in objects, spaces, feelings, little moments. there’s something so grounding about turning clay into something meaningful, something that didn’t exist before

creating reminds me that beauty can be slow, imperfect, and still worth making ✨

stationery just makes me so happy 🥹
finally checked out the paper joint in brunswick and it’s the cutest little tucked-away shop full of stickers, trinkets, and craft supplies
could’ve stayed there forever just looking at everything… and they even had a workshop happening in the back 😭 so wholesome

Loved spending a cosy rainy morning drawing under the magnificent dome of Melbourne’s iconic Royal Exhibition Building in a workshop with Richard Payne. Huge thanks to the Melbourne Museum for offering such a special opportunity! 🌧️✍🏽🎨 @biloganvictoria for the drawings above my sketchbook! It’s so wonderful to meet artists in these workshops! Check out her art!
