Influence or de-influence my TBR! 🍂📚

As the season shifts, I’m picking one fiction and one non-fiction title to read next, but before I finalize my fall book stack, I need your honest opinions! 🥹😆

Here are the titles currently on my radar for autumn reading list:

Fiction :
📖 The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Classic Fiction)
📖 The Women of Troy by Pat Barker (Myth Retelling)

Non-Fiction:
📖 The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason (Classic Non-Fiction)
📖 Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott (Creative Writing)

Swipe 👈 to see the complete reading list!

❓Which fiction and non-fiction pair should I prioritize first, and which ones should I skip? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

What happens when a fashion icon’s words linger far longer than her persona? 💬👗📚

This was my very first time reading a biography, and the experience completely surprised me (in the best way possible ✌🏻)

Reading Chanel: A Woman of Her Own by Axel Madsen revealed the raw, painful reality behind her legendary fashion empire. Chanel lost her mother at a young age, was abandoned by her father, and spent her adulthood loving men who ultimately chose other women or prioritized status over loyalty.

The only true constant in her life was her work and the legacy she built with her own hands.
Swipe ⬅️ to read a few of her most profound words

💬 If you had to pick just one biography to recommend, whose story should I read next? Tell me in the comments below! 👇

Have you ever fallen in love with an author on the very first page? 📚💘

Because that was me with Eileen Chang 🫶🏼

I first heard about her from @shelfishness (whose literary fiction taste is top-tier ✨). Then, like a plot device in a movie, I stumbled upon her short stories collection Jasmine Tea while traveling in Dubai.

Did I make an irresponsible financial decision to buy it? Absolutely.
Do I regret it?
Not for a single second.

My wallet is officially in danger because I am now committed to buying her entire catalog 💸📚😂

Some connections heal us.
Yet some wound us. Shattered us.
And some just happened to us.

For years, I thought isolation and detachment would heal the wounded me. I used to constantly anticipate the hurt that might come next. But now, I realize that avoiding connection doesn’t heal our wounds.

Over time, I met people and read books that showed me the other side: that warm, fulfilling connections are the true path to healing. And we deserve them.

The One Who Broke You Can’t Heal You by @najwazebian made me realize just how vital healthy connections really are. Swipe ⬅️ to read hard truths I learned from the book 📚

Thank you @netgalley and @harmonyrodaleconvergent for the e-arc. I am truly honored to receive this thought-provoking read.

I thought I needed a 5k following.

I thought I needed to live in the US, UK, or Canada.

And I thought major publishers would turn me down because of my unaesthetic IG feed.

And yet, here I am.

Living in a small country, Indonesia.
Fewer than 3k followers after 3+ years.
Not a native English speaker.
But receiving e-ARCs from world-renowned publishers.

When I first joined @netgalley the rejections hit hard and fast. But once I adjusted my reader bio and request strategy, everything shifted. Fast forward to today, and many publishers are saying YES to my requests.

If you think you can’t make it as a bookish creator, let me share my strategy so you can too 🫶🏼
