Today marks the day our eldest came into this world. In the wee hours of July 28th 2016, the veil thinned, the room filled with God + all things holy, my body doing what women have done since the beginning of time: became a sacred portal between worlds, and Apollo Silver Angel joined us earthside.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been a mom for a decade now. I’d like to think I stayed present through it all, but here I am 10 years later, and it still feels like the blink of an eye. I’m not sure where the time has gone. But isn’t that life, though. A constant, egging whisper of, “How did we get here?”

Our golden sunshine boy. Kindness, compassion, empathy, and all things silly run through his veins. 10 is a marker. We’ve made it through newborn, baby, toddler, and child stages. And a new adventure will greet us soon on the other side.

When he was born, it was hard for me to even fathom that a love like that could exist in the physical world. The tether between mom and son was so strong we often felt as one. And then we continue to watch them grow, change, and become more of themselves as they explore and their tiny world grows bigger and bigger each day, each year. and this is a good thing. This means they are doing what they are supposed to do, But it’s also hard.

The tether grows longer, but while it grows, we hope that continues to strengthen, in the sense that they stay bonded to us and carry on what we teach each other in this lifetime. And I say teach each other because while I have been the parent, he has taught me equally as much, maybe more.

I could go on and on, but I’ll end it here. Celebrating my boy. Forever grateful to have been chosen in this lifetime to be his mom. 🥹🩷🙏🏼 by @devinnangel

The end of an era 🪽 Our miracle cat, Meeki, crossed over the rainbow bridge on Friday the 13th. We got almost an extra month with her and this is something we will always cherish. After most her life wanting to be outside, she spent this time with the boys and leaned into her soft era. 16 years is a long time to be with a cat. I found her weeks before moving in with Jorge for the first time. She grew up while we fell in love, moved (a lot), got married, added children, and said goodbye to other animals souls. Her leaving this earthly plane is the last closing of that chapter of my life. My loyal girl through it all. Forever missed, always loved <3 by @devinnangel

Three weeks of winter break bliss 💖 A beautiful holiday, surprising the kids with a trip up north to celebrate my dad’s 75th, which ended with a crazy day of canceled flights and @porpe driving us from Boston, but the kids got to see snow!❄️

We spent cozy time with family and laughed, as usual, until our stomachs hurt. We came back to Tampa to enjoy our last week and sadly said goodbye to our dear ole guard cat. Even though she was 15, I truly was not prepared for this.

The theme of the new year for me already is a reminder that life is sometimes messy. It can be tragic while simultaneously being beautiful. We can experience joy, be at peace, and still have to work on letting go of control.

Closure is a funny thing. We don’t always get answers, even when we so badly want them, and yet for the sake of ourselves we have to find a way to be OKAY with that. We are blessed to experience life, the good and the bad. Sometimes old lessons come back around to ensure our souls have grown. And while we may be wiser and more experienced, it doesn’t mean they don’t hurt.

So yes I dread the school week starting tomorrow and feel sad when my kids aren’t around, but I’m also happy because that means life has kept on moving. And for that, I will always be grateful 🌈🩷🙏🏼✌🏼 by @devinnangel

My honey bunny cinnamon bun baby sloth 🥹 7 years old! time flies while the moments move slow. My unique soul with all the natural style, who true to being a libra, loves all things pretty + cute.
