Grateful 🤲🏾. Being selected as a recipient of the Harriet Tubman Beacon of Hope Leadership Award is deeply meaningful to me. To be recognized in the spirit of Harriet Tubman’s courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others is an honor I do not take lightly. I’m far from perfect, but I do my best to help others daily. This is not done for recognition but it’s always a bonus when that work is appreciated in your community. Thank you to Mayor Lajan Cephas Bey & the good folks at Alpha Genesis for this honor! There’s more work to be done! by @devonbeck365

Dentist appointments & Lost miniature Elephants. Ryann has had a rough couple of days! She’s a trooper. We experienced a mini-miracle this afternoon though! I never envisioned myself digging in the sand at any point this year but, here we are. No other place I’d rather be. ❤️ I call this a rare parenting win! 🏅 #GirlDad by @devonbeck365

“Sometimes, we gotta take the mask off and be a little vulnerable, ya know, I can’t believe what I am about to say.” devonbeck365 song "Good Morning"

These masks, made by people around the world remind us that there is often a big difference between the ‘front of the mask’ and the ‘back of the mask’

There’s something powerful about looking into a room full of young people and reminding them of something they may need to hear before they take that test: “YES I CAN!”

Last school year, I had the opportunity to connect with the students at Choptank Elementary School before MCAP testing. The energy was incredible! 🔥 But beyond the music, cheers, and excitement, the goal was to build confidence and remind every student that they already have what it takes to succeed. Thank you, Choptank Elementary, for allowing Beck Excellence to bring the motivation and the impact!

S/O to Teat Davon for providing the tunes and holding me down as always! Thank you to Brittany Taylor for the referral!! 🙏🏾

Is your school ready to inspire and empower your students? Let’s create an experience they’ll never forget. Book Beck Excellence for your next school assembly, pep rally, or student empowerment event! 🙌🏾

Whenever @djillkid asks me to show up, I’m there!! He recently received the key to the city. That’s major!! The Unity Festival is a staple in the community of Cambridge and I was honored to share a message with the people. “Everybody can’t go.” Just a reminder to stop waiting for others if you want to make changes in your community. Ill Kid is consistently showing us the way. 🫡 Thanks for giving Beck Excellence a platform! Here’s the recap! #GoodMorning #BeckExcellence taken in Cambridge, Maryland by @devonbeck365

It seems like we were dropping Taylor off for her first day of kindergarten at Chipman Elementary School. (I cried) Yesterday, we said goodbye to her as she starts Bowie State University. (I cried again) She has everything she needs to be successful. Hands down one of my proudest papa moments to date! It’s your time!! 💛🖤 #Taylor #BSU taken in Bowie State University by @devonbeck365

Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to Berlin, Maryland and spend a half day with the incredible team at Worcester County DSS. Together, we explored a training called “Thriving While Serving Others” a conversation centered around creating boundaries and rediscovering your why. The work they do every day is heavy, meaningful, and often emotionally demanding.

During our time together, we reflected on recognizing the signs of burnout, creating healthier boundaries, supporting one another, and building a culture where people can thrive not just survive. Check out this recap from our session!

If you’re looking for engaging and meaningful professional development for your organization, I’d love to connect.

On Monday, I had the opportunity to travel to The Country School to facilitate a reflection workshop with their teachers before summer break.

It was a powerful experience to celebrate the meaningful work accomplished throughout the year and recognize the lasting impact these educators have made in the lives of their students. We shared plenty of laughs, reflected on growth, and acknowledged the incredible strides made both inside and outside the classroom.

Ending the year with gratitude, perspective, and a renewed sense of purpose was truly inspiring.

Thank you to The Country School for trusting Beck Excellence to be part of this important moment. Wishing all of the teachers and staff a well-deserved summer break!
