An update on revised Rugby laws

Recently, World Rugby announced updates to 2 laws regarding dangerous tackles. Please find information in the posts above regarding these updates, what they mean for you as players and coaches, and how the referee will take action.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the revised rules regarding “knee-drop” tackles has come into place since the 5th of October 2026, and the updated rule for “Hip-Drop” tackles comes into place from the 1st of November 2026.

We support @worldrugby in their updates of these rules, and support @devonrugbyrefs as they continue to manage our games keeping them as safe as possible!

Please encourage all coaches and players at your respected clubs to familiarise themselves with the updated laws, and when they take effect.
