"Stuck in this paradigm
Don’t believe in paradise
This must be what Hell is like
There’s got to be more, got to be more
Sick of this head of mine
Intrusive thoughts, they paralyze
Nirvana’s not as advertised
There’s got to be more, been here before
Life’s better on Saturn
Got to break this pattern
Of floating away
Find something worth saving
It’s all for the taking
I always say
I’ll be better on Saturn
None of this matters
Dreaming of Saturn" 🪐

An early morning hike turned into some much needed miles, my little man, and the beautiful autumn colors and lighting. Started out the day just right! 🍂 🍁 ☀️

Yet, even the cyclical shrouds of despondency, fear, grief, and death, then thereafter can spring a fountain of hope, courage, euphoria, and life.
This lonely tree of spring flowers on my run this afternoon gave me hope. It’s so incredibly easy to give in to all the fear and uncertainty weaved into the world’s current state of affairs, but it’s not the end. If I even attempt to think of a glowing silver lining, as hard as it may be, I’m convinced that all things happen for a reason and maybe it’s a second chance to start anew. Clean slates can lead to many unexpected surprises and worthwhile self-realizations, washing away what we wish we could have done better, or perhaps not done at all for that matter.
My anxiety has been nothing but debilitating for the past couple days, sharing the same heavy mental health concerns of most people, but strangely some blooming flowers on a lonely tree ameliorated some of that. I write this, my friends, as a piece of hope to say keep carrying on and remember, it is not the end.
As a favorite character from the screen once said, “It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened.
But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something...that there’s some good in this world.” -Samwise Gamgee
