Spencer had a blast at his first ever summer camp! He went with his Boy Scout troop to Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. He took an oceanography class, bird watching, and numerous activities to help him advance in ranking. He returned home with stories galore, a bag full of wet/sandy stuff, and one request: a bubble bath. And even though we told him to sleep in this morning, he didn’t, so he ended up passed out on the couch. And he NEVER takes naps.

Had a fun weekend with the scouts at Camp Trask this weekend. The kids got to experience shooting riffles, shotguns, and bows & arrows; it was the first time for many. Then a few of us went on a hike…which ended up being 6 miles 😥. Then we had an up and close bear sighting! He was a juvenile that was most likely abandoned by mamma bear, so he was doing a mix of showing off and desperately trying to find food.

For Father’s Day the fam took me to the Superman Experience at WB Studios and we had a blast! After we saved the world with Supes, we got some goodies at the bar and gift shop. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Making the most of the last few days with mom/Nana in town. First, we checked out the Getty Villa for the very first time!

The kiddos wanted a beach day, but they didn’t say if they wanted a WARM beach day.

Adventures in Joshua Tree part 2. Two years ago we suffered through 4 days of rain and insanely cold temperatures. This year: high temperatures, dryness, and 20+ mph winds. We at least still had a fun time suffering through it all together. And of course the stars were as beautiful as ever. Thanks again for another adventure in camping @robbiedangerous!

Took a trip to Disneyland over the weekend to celebrate wrapping up the school year, both kiddos birthdays, and having Nana Dew in town! We learned two things…1: A random Saturday in May not as crazy as a weekday in March. 2: Our bodies definitely don’t like a 15 hour day at Disneyland.
