We make our coffee with beans from Chicago’s @metriccoffee, and our friends at @beacondoughnuts keep the pastry case stocked with doughnuts. Choose one that looks good, and we’ll get your coffee started.

@minorfigures oat milk is our default, with soy, coconut and corn milk available at no extra charge.

There’s more going into our Celery & Nori salad than you might spot at first.

We use celery, celery root and celery leaf, giving each part a place on the plate. The soy milk gets used two ways, too: in the dressing and to make the yuba that goes into the salad.

For the dressing, the proteins in soy milk help it come together with oil, much like an egg yolk does when making aioli. The skin that forms on the soy milk becomes the yuba.

It’s something we love about cooking: finding out how much one ingredient can do. We’d love for you to try it!

The fries have been getting some love around here!

We spend three days preparing each batch, and you’ve been noticing. Guests have told us they’re the best fries they’ve ever had, with a crunch that stays crispy.

They’re thick-cut, skin-on and ready to join whatever you’re having for lunch. We’re partial to a plate with a cold @hopewellbrewing beer. Hannah’s selection includes their Pils and Lightbeam Hazy IPA.

The smoked carrot and sunflower sandwich is now on the lunch menu.

Smoked carrot, pickled vegetables, lettuce, cucumber and sunflower sprouts on Publican Quality Bread’s 1979 multigrain, with a creamy sunflower-seed spread.

Lunch is now on the menu at Dewey’s!

Riley grew up with sisters who have serious food allergies, so dietary needs have always been personal to him. At @deweys_cafe, that means food that feels considered and satisfying for everyone at the table.

Hannah, a certified sommelier who has spent more than a decade in Chicago’s restaurant and wine community, is building a wine list that can be just as much a reason to stay as the food.
