It is also great to have greatly reduced social media scrolling, and reduced investing energy and time in other people's life happenings. Try it for a week, you will see a difference in your mental well-being and general calm. You will feel to extend it for more time. Used some of that time to read about Global Funds and US Equities & Emerging Markets since everyone needs more diversification apart from NIFTY. August was good I suppose. Few snippets of the many moments that went by. Rebuilding things does not feel like an unfortunate task anymore. Rather feels like an enjoyable journey which will compound into something that I always wished for and wanted for me. I still give myself grief every now and then for putting many things on hold, of delaying things and messing things up, then I forgive myself and promise myself that I will sail through anything and be gentle on myself. Not being perennially online here, and lurking around here and there sporadically for almost a month has been rewarding for the body and mind. Random snippets. Random thoughts. Just a fraction of the past few days. I believe I am rebuilding my relationship with food, eating more and better, baby steps. It has been a tough deal on the body and mind with minor hiccups here and there, much better understanding of the gut-brain axis and overall well being. It is scary but one step at a time. Beer is a sensory experience. You don't just put your face in the glass and start gulping it like a neurotic madman. Appreciate the pour, the head, the color of the beer. Every drink has a personality of its own. Smell, take a moment to see the drink in its element. Try to guess the notes Proceed to take a swig. Describe what you feel, the tasting notes, talk about it, make the hard earned pint feel loved. Beer helps you travel back in time. Discuss what this sip made you remember. More often than not, memories associated with that beer style / brand elevate or dull the experience. Beer drinking is a full turnkey experience on its own. Savor it. Cherish it. No beer is 'bad'. Of curries and meal preps. I like routine. Familiarity. The cycle and pattern which feels like home. Boxed. Comfort zone. I know growth happens outside yada yada. But discipline only happens in routine. I like the consistency. I don't really go all out and elaborate the way I did during 2020-2022. Must have made at least 50-60 different types of curries involving a Venn Diagram of regions, locales, ingredients and recipes. 'Protein' should not be a fad, a trend. It should be a part of your daily lifestyle. Muscle mass is not just vanity. In fact, my physio told me I have reasonably good muscular strength hence it has protected my joints and not given me excessive pain for my chronic stiffness. Use whatever ingredients you have. Everything in this has basic spices, GG paste, some meat masala, maybe a touch of soy or honey here and there, some greens. Basically nothing super fancy and exotic. Basics. Routine. Discipline. Even if I ever have dementia, I will not forget this bit in time and space. Right from the haunting melodic intro of 'Castle of Glass' to Earth-shattering In The End chorus to the fireworks, @linkinpark was absolute magic. Lucked out, got a decent place to stand despite the last minute rush and had we been 5mins late, we would have perhaps not even been able to see the stage properly. Despite people pointing out the technical glitches, low sound, it was surreal. Sources say about 80K people were present in that part of the city witnessing something that seemed like a distant dream.
