What happened at Cornell is horrible and disgusting. I keep thinking about what I can actually do as a mom after hearing something like this.

For me, it starts with my son.

Having these conversations with him now and continuing to have them as he gets older. Teaching him to stand up for what’s right, call out his friends when they’re wrong and understand that staying quiet when someone is being harmed isn’t okay either.

I’m posting this because I want to encourage other parents to have these conversations too, especially those of us raising boys.

Still in awe from yesterday. So much love and so much unity. People from different walks of life, many of whom were meeting for the first time, came together for a great cause and helped serve so many families.

A full recap is coming later this week, but right now I am just incredibly proud of my commUNITY. From the volunteers to the vendors to the DJs, you all truly amazed me. Thank you for trusting @dogoodatx and the vision to give and have fun doing it!

A little late to the party, but we had to share the impact! 🎒✏️💕

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported our School Supply Drive! Because of you, we were able to help 200 kids start the school year with the supplies they needed. 🥹

✨ Our donation provided school supplies for 100 kids at the George Morales School Supply Giveaway.

✨ Another 100 students received supplies through our donation to KIPP Paseo, a charter school serving a predominantly Black and Brown student population.

A special thank you to @whereyallatthough for hosting a school supply drive at @auntieshouseatx ! Your support helped us provide even more school supplies AND teacher supplies to KIPP Paseo. 🫶🏽

Thank you to our local businesses for hosting drop off boxes at their locations. @acllive & @blazertag 🫶

This is what community looks like. When we all do a little, together we can do A LOT. 💕

And we’re not done! 👀 As October approaches, we’re already gearing up for our annual Toy Drive! 🎁🎄

SXSW you did your thang this year! Our venue killed it with our showcases and private events. My friends produced amazing showcases and stayed booked with gigs! Watched people who used to work under me thrive in their current roles. It was all full circle! 🥹

From a street team girlie who used to be in these streets plastering posters to working with the best in the biz. SX reminds me why this is like the Super Bowl for our industry!
