We're kicking off Do Good Week by celebrating World Sight Day! 👁️

Vision loss affects nearly all of us — whether now, in the future or through someone we love. According to the World Health Organization, the number of people living with vision loss is projected to be over 1.7 billion by 2050. Our work isn’t slowing down, and neither are we 💙

Join us in making a difference. Your gift to Service for Sight helps support people living with blindness or low vision through education, advocacy and access to vital resources, while also supporting research focused on preventing vision loss.

You empower children and teens navigating vision loss to build the independence and confidence they need to thrive when you support the Delta Gamma Foundation.

In 2025, the Foundation was proud to award a Service for Sight grant to Braille Institute of America to help support Braille Challenge. This annual national braille literacy competition motivates students to practice and hone their braille skills while promoting braille literacy on an international scale. Programs like this expand what's possible for children and teens living with blindness or low vision.

It's National Hazing Prevention Week, and the Delta Gamma Foundation stands firm with the Fraternity that hazing has no place in Delta Gamma. The Foundation is proud to support Training and Programming initiatives like Creating a Culture of Care that help members foster an environment that promotes human dignity and belonging, free from hazing. Members of Delta Gamma should participate in all aspects of the member experience without compromising their personal health and wellness, academic performance and human rights. Hazing corrupts the true meaning of Fraternity life and negates what Delta Gamma affirms.

The Fraternity has a curated list of resources to help members, advisors, and other leaders support prevention education and celebrate building a values-based member experience. Take a look at the Hazing Prevention and Upstander Engagement: Member Resource Guide in the Delta Gamma library and be an example of These Hands Don't Haze. by @dgfoundation

Guide dogs do more than help people get from place to place — they help open up possibilities! 🦮 Through our Service for Sight grants, the Delta Gamma Foundation is proud to support organizations helping people with vision loss gain greater confidence and independence.

Freedom Guide Dogs for the Blind received a 2025 Service for Sight grant to support the training and placement of a guide dog with an applicant through its Hometown Training program. This program allows individuals to receive guide dog training in their own communities rather than traveling for services.

Service for Sight is helping redefine what's possible! 🦯

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) received a 2025 Service for Sight grant to continue providing leadership development, peer networking and self-advocacy skills for Canadian students in grades 11 to the first year of post-secondary education through the SCORE Scholars program. Service for Sight grants expand possibilities for children and teens living with blindness or low vision!

The Carroll Center for the Blind received a 2025 Service for Sight grant to support its transformative summer programs, which served 65 children and teens last summer. The grant helped ensure that participants — many from low-income families — had access to safe, inclusive and developmentally appropriate opportunities to build confidence, independence and social connections.

With this support, the Carroll Center was able to deliver high-quality, specialized programming that empowered youth to explore, learn and grow alongside peers with shared experiences.

Access to early intervention can change outcomes for children with cerebral/cortical visual impairment (CVI).

Thanks to a Service for Sight grant, Anchor Center for Blind Children, one of the five Delta Gamma Schools, expanded it's CVI Program to improve early identification, diagnostic accuracy and intervention outcomes for infants and young children with CVI.

"Funding strengthened our capacity to deliver specialized assessments, expand access to evidence-based interventions, provide family education and coaching, and train healthcare professionals and educators in best practices for CVI care," shared Savannah Wippel, director of development and community relations
