Where Has My Audacity Gone? 🤷‍♀️

I got emotional while reading this poem and my first feelings were of embarrassment…as if I shouldn’t have cried…I should be “stronger” than that…in front of a room full of strangers, my “ideal” is to appear poised, collected, sure of myself…but what happened was infinitely more powerful because what I realize is that my audacity lies truly in my vulnerability…in my capacity to be seen exactly as I am without trying to change or hide my feelings (and I have BIG feelings)

So thank you for seeing me clearly, especially when it’s hard to see myself. I Love You 💜

Hello Beauties ✨

I can’t tell you enough how much I love this workshop 💖 It’s always so cool to see who it brings forward and what it brings out of us as we each move through the coursework 🔮

The work is designed for us to navigate our internal sense of intuition, to identify what it is (and also what it isn’t!), and to offer a supportive container to allow ourselves to explore it’s messages 👁️

The curriculum includes meditations, Pranayama (breathwork) and a course workbook to follow the lessons along 🧘🏼📙

Here are some of the main details in short:
• Friday evenings, 7 - 8:30pm, November 13 - December 6 🗓️
• In-Person at my home in Brackendale, Squamish 🏡
• Online on Zoom - even if folks don’t join on zoom, the sessions will be recorded and sent out to participants in case they want to review between sessions 💻

If you’re in, you can reserve your spot by e-transfer to homehasbeencalling@gmail.com or feel free to reach out to me here if you have any questions!

Big Love 💛

Walk🚶‍♀️🌳👣

My mind exclaimed “wear your shoes! The ground is rough and dreadful!”
While the bottoms of my feet cringed at the thought of going barefoot
But a voice much deeper and wiser inside said “perhaps you could
take them along on your walk while you test the true input”

And rather to my great surprise
The ground was soft, not brittle or incise,
The winter had weathered it so beautifully fine
And my steps seemed to float over heaven Divine

Sticking with cottonwood buds, the great healer of Gilead
Smelling sweetly of spring as the sun just had
Warmed up the treetops, released the sap
And affixed to my heels, getting caught in the trap

Of a journey through the woods, guiding me all the way home
Knowing the gateway to my centre is through the soles of my soul.

I Love You 🌳🦶

Porous House 🥣🫖

My friend’s grandma used to say “the door is always open and the kettle’s always on”
and though that’s not the type of home I myself grew up in, it’s an idea toward which I’ve been profoundly drawn.

But rather than tea, I made soup instead.
The winter was sure to be cold and long, so perhaps we’d gather ‘round and break bread.

With no expectations, no RSVP needed,
The pot itself was the invitation and the people conceded.

Each week brought new faces, some joining on a whim
We ate and we laughed, bellies and hearts filled to the brim

One Sunday a friend arrived and handed me a painting he’d made. In my silence he said “it’s soup”. I said “I know” with teary eyes as “cool” was never a role I well-played.

Because what I didn’t know when it began is how much it would mean to me.
For the people to come, to eat, to relax, to share their last evening of the week.

Sometimes we would write and inside jokes began to emerge.
From pelicans with sore throats to where stories about raccoon societies and a man named Roy converged.

One said “Sunday is fast becoming a day I look forward to weeklong!”
And I felt it too, the truth is that this community is exactly where I belonged.

She called ours a “porous house”, and to my heart these words sounded like song.
I replied “well, the door is always open. And the kettle’s always on”

I Love You ❤️

🌱 Spring Things 🌸

Against a backdrop of browns and greys
Spring’s vibrancy shows me the way.
Observing each new petal and leaf
reminds me of my own tenderness while waking from deep sleep.
The Winter felt long and there’s still more to push through
but my soul’s slow unfurl will reveal all anew.
So spend time coming out, there’s no rush to wake,
you’re exactly on time, and time it will take.

I Love You ❤️
