There are moments in life when one learns that beauty can be found in the smallest of places—that even something as minuscule as a sneaker can make all the difference between remaining human and being completely overtaken by savagery. by @diamondinthestuy

This post was a must. I had to share how transformational this finals run is for the city.

This moment is for all those day 1 fans who understand the grind and sacrifice it took for us to get here and those who kept hope alive.

For those betting against us, remember that it is New York or Nowhere 🗽

Transplants sit this one out.

Survivors remorse shows up in our lives in places and spaces that we are not even conscious of. I’ve been conditioned to keep moving forward but with each step I can’t help the uncomfortable feelings of guilt that follow.

This piece was long and I haven’t even really scratched the surface. More to come. by @diamondinthestuy

Nearly 60 years after Terry v. Ohio, the surveillance of Black bodies hasn’t disappeared — it’s evolved. “Looking For Terry” confronts that reality while expanding the narrative, reminding us that Black life is not defined by suspicion, but by depth, resilience and beauty.

On view at the Richard Beavers Gallery in Bed-Stuy, this powerful group exhibition brings together 10 artists — Desmond Beach, Leroy Campbell, Xavier Daniels, Clarence Heyward, Marcus Jansen, Lex Marie, Frank Morrison, Ayela-Uwangue Nosawema, Patrick Henry (Rich Fresh) and daáPó réo — to reclaim the Black gaze beyond policing and prejudice.

Through textiles, painting and layered histories, the show challenges the legacy of stop-and-frisk while honoring the fullness of Black identity — past, present and future.
“Looking For Terry” isn’t just about remembering. It’s about questioning, healing and redefining what we see.

On view through March 21. taken in New York, New York by @diamondinthestuy
