@mycollegetours now takes over 500 students per semester on tours of various colleges around the nation. It’s meaningful, worthwhile, community based work. Grateful to take part in the Abney Family business.

Today marks 3 years since I got my article published in the New York Times.. Back on May 9th 2021, life looked a whole lot different. Covid impacted the world, I was a senior in high-school and I had no thoughts or hopes about going to college.

Fast-forwarding to today, May 9th 2024 I am at Morehouse College, a part of many campus orgs, involved in my community, and excelling scholastically.

I was able to do all of this because of my New York Times Article. This article will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was the first time that I realized that I was just as great as everyone said I was and an indication that my voice could matter too in this big world.

I have done a lot in my time at school but most of all I’m proud that I’ve made strides for myself and for the community. I’m just a kid from Brooklyn. I hope to continue to achieve and make more efforts to impact the world.

Here’s to one of the best days of my life. May 9th.
