Totalitarian regimes — Soviet-Russian, fascist, Nazi — and the “soft” versions of the American mass myth all target the imagination, imposing simple plots and fixed roles. @dianafaksh Pipi series works differently: her protagonist slips away from ready-made narratives and brings the seams of ideology to the surface — the points where the “grand story” begins to crack.

Through humor, awkwardness, and exaggeration, these works expose how storytelling and pop culture standardize desires and bodies. At the same time, the American mass myth of “be whoever you want to be” coexists with other normalization mechanisms — replacing the pressure of external force with the pressure of self-projection.

Here, absurdity becomes a method of decoding: it restores ambiguity, makes renaming possible, and opens up room for daily choices — made through the body, voice, and gesture. Pipi offers no answers but forces us to see how the global human game is stitched together (@xeniaulyanova)

Тоталітарні режими — радянсько-російський, фашистський, нацистський — і «м’які» версії американського масового міфу однаково полюють на уяву, нав’язуючи прості сюжети й єдині ролі. Серія Діани Факш про Пiпi працює інакше: героїня вислизає з готових сценаріїв і виводить на поверхню шви ідеології — місця, де «велика розповідь» тріскає.

Через сміх, ніяковість і перебільшення роботи показують, як сторітелінг і поп-культура стандартизують бажання й тіла; водночас американський масовий міф «будь тим, ким захочеш» співіснує з іншими механіками нормалізації, замінюючи тиск прямого примусу тиском самопроєктування.

Абсурд тут — метод розшифровки: він повертає неоднозначність, дозволяє називати інакше та робити щоденні вибори — тілом, голосом, жестом. Пiпi не дає настанов, але змушує побачити, як зшита глобальна людська гра (@xeniaulyanova) taken in LU Galleries by @dianafaksh
