Hi, I’m Diane. And there’s a lot more to my story than markers, doodles & paint.

For almost 30 years, I’ve built my life and career around one simple belief:

“When we make our ideas visible, they become possible.”

I’ve traveled the world capturing ideas for companies large + small.

I became a single mom raising two little girls while building my business.

I met my husband at a conference and married him six weeks later.

At 42, I had a baby boy who changed everything and my prioritize getting off the road.

My husband built my first little teaching studio in the corner of our living room.

I started broadcasting on Periscope, teaching online + eventually built a global community of 25,000 people.

Along the way, I’ve taught thousands of people, worked with incredible organizations, built businesses, created courses, filled more flipcharts than I could ever count and even became a painter.

And now, at 53, all of those pieces are coming together in a new chapter.

I was invited & challenged to build a community on #skool and decided to build the Big Picture Club.

A place for creative entrepreneurs with BIG ideas to get clear, map what matters + actually make those ideas happen with weekly coaching, accountability and a community beside them.

This feels like the culmination of so much of what I’ve spent my life doing.

For years, people have been asking me to come back to Instagram and teach my simple visual icons. Well, here we are!

I’m bringing back these short drawing lessons and sharing them across my social media platforms so you can learn how to use simple visuals in your own work.

These are the building blocks of visual thinking and storytelling.

A few simple shapes and lines can help you communicate an idea, explain a process, tell a story, or make something complicated easier to understand.

Visuals don’t have to be complicated to make an impact.

And that’s exactly what we practice inside The Big Picture Club.

What I draw for a client who’s trying to figure out who their ideal customer is.

We start with something they might not expect.

Their own identity.

Before we talk about who you want to serve, we explore who YOU are. It takes a few minutes to make a visual of…

What is your current marketing strategy?
Do you have a business plan?
What research have you done?
Who are your current customers?
Do you have a branding guide?
What is your current social media plan?
What is your website look like?
Do you know your budget?
What do you want to be known for?

Because sometimes the best way to understand who you want to help is to first understand what makes you uniquely qualified to help them.

When we draw these ideas out, we start to see connections that aren’t always obvious when we’re just talking.

And that’s what I love about visual thinking.

A simple drawing can help you see something that’s been right in front of you all along.

Full transparency. It took me about 5 minutes of recording to get to a 2 minute lessons today. I do a lot of retakes. Forget my thoughts and use the wrong props. I don’t have a script, but I do have a general idea of what I want to say especially because I just taught all this content for Big Picture Monday. I wasn’t planning to share the outtakes on IG. But I thought it might be helpful to see…just keep filming. You can always edit your video down.

I will be talking more about this lesson on Friday during office hours & hot seat coaching for Premium Members. Bring your phones, we are going to record and edit a video for REELS together.

42 pounds lighter. Feeling more like myself every day. ❤️

Today’s OOTD! 🍂

From 204 lbs. to 162 lbs.

Six months ago, I was getting dressed and everything was tight. I had a decision to go buy bigger clothes or join a 28 Challenge with @courtneyhuntmd

I’m having fun getting dressed again!

One of the unexpected joys of losing weight in my 50s has been rediscovering my personal style.

I’m enjoying shopping in my own closet, trying new combinations, and wearing things I wouldn’t have reached for before.

And today? A cozy cable-knit sweater, my favorite jeans, and a colorful scarf.

Nothing fancy. Just feeling good in my own skin.

🎤 How I easily batch videos for Instagram and Skool

Every Monday, I host Big Picture Monday inside my Big Picture Club. It’s a weekly group coaching community where we come together to map out a visual for our businesses, identify our top three priorities, and make a plan to take action.

Throughout the week, we support each other, check in, and celebrate our progress.

One of the things I’ve started doing is blocking off an extra hour on my calendar right after our Monday call.

I pull out my microphone, set up my camera, and record 3–4 short videos for Instagram.

Some of these videos answer questions members have asked during our calls. Others are little lessons, tips, or ideas I’ve been working on.

And sometimes I record bonus content just for my community.

Then I schedule everything for the week so I don’t have to think about what to post every single day.

It’s a simple little system that helps me stay consistent without spending all week creating content.
