I came across this photo through Facebook today and it brought back such a wonderful memory
of Guido Basso.
Guido had a wonderful sense of humour and a way of making you feel special whenever you were around him. He was one of those people who could make you laugh, make you feel welcome, and then pick up his instrument and remind you just how extraordinary talented he was.
He was truly one of a kind - an incredible jazz musician and a very special person. I feel very lucky to have that our paths crossed and that I have memories like this one.
This photo with Guido and my dear friend Michèle Gagnon is one I’m especially happy I didn’t lose. 💖.

During our intermission at last night’s Stratford Concert Band Concert, the Stratford Police Pipes & Drums @stratfordpolicepipesanddrums gave a beautiful performance of The Skye Boat Song from Outlander. A traditional Scottish folk song adapted by composer Bear McCreary.
I’ll admit… I may have found myself scanning the audience, half expecting Jamie Fraser to appear and whisk me away to the Highlands of Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😉
Until then, I’ll happily settle for the magic of pipes, drums and wonderful music.

With over 200 performers on stage -orchestra and choir-it was an incredible experience to be part of such a powerful performance alongside fantastic colleagues.
Perfect weather, a wonderful audience, and music that reminds me why I love playing the horn.

Blessed 🌸☕️💅
Finding joy in the little things.
Romanticizing my own life.
Fresh cut flowers, a beautifully made latte, and bright pink nails.
Surrounding myself with things that make my soul happy ☺️
and a reminder that beautiful days are still ahead.

What a spectacular evening at the Stratford Festival Theatre with Brian Barlow’s Big Band and the incredible singer Heather Bambrick, celebrating the timeless music of Duke Ellington.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing backstage crew Renata, Adam, Ben and Heather (those are the names I remember). Your warmth, professionalism, and gracious hospitality made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived.
You are truly first class.

The audience was equally wonderful filling the theatre with energy and enthusiasm. We felt every bit of it.

Playing with Brian Barlow’s Big Band is always a joy. Brian’s arrangement are brilliant-full of colour, excitement, and respect for Ellington’s genius.
We played our hearts out, and it was an honour to share the stage with such exceptional musicians.

Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable night possible. Music has a remarkable way of bringing people together, and last night was a beautiful reminder of that. 💜

I got inspired when I saw this putting glitter/tinsel in her hair.
Went to Sally’s beauty store and bought myself some extensions. So many colours to pick.
Will see next week which colour I choose 💖💜
