Barbadian artist DreJ has taken his breakout hit “Trouble (She Hate Men)” to an entirely different level, unexpectedly linking up with Jamaican dancehall icon Shaggy for a new remix. The collaboration is a major moment for DreJ and another indication of just how far the infectious “Trouble” phenomenon has travelled. What started as a viral Caribbean record has continued to evolve through remixes and collaborations, and now the song has landed one of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall history. “Trouble (She Hate Men)” has already generated significant attention across social media and Caribbean music platforms, with the track spawning remixes including the Barbados version featuring Father Philis and Mikado. The song has also appeared across major streaming platforms and Caribbean-focused playlists, helping push DreJ's sound beyond Barbados. From Barbados to the World For DreJ, the Shaggy collaboration represents more than simply adding a superstar feature to a popular song. It places a young Barbadian voice alongside an artist whose career has helped carry Caribbean music into mainstream international culture. Shaggy, born Orville Richard Burrell, has spent decades building one of the most recognizable careers in reggae and dancehall. His catalogue includes global anthems such as “Boombastic,” “It Wasn't Me,” “Angel” and “Oh Carolina.” His 1995 hit “Boombastic” reached the top of charts around the world and helped establish Shaggy as a major crossover star. His influence extends well beyond chart success. Shaggy is a two-time Grammy Award winner, taking home Best Reggae Album for Boombastic and later winning again for 44/876, his collaborative album with Sting. Perhaps even more significant is the cultural reach of his music. “It Wasn't Me” became a worldwide phenomenon, reaching No. 1 in both the United States and United Kingdom and topping charts in numerous other territories. A Big Look for Bajan Music That history makes the DreJ and Shaggy link-up particularly significant. DreJ has managed to create something that resonates with audiences far beyond the traditional boundaries of Barbados. by @dibbyness

Two-time Barbados Road March winning production team Noize Boyz have come out of the blocks swinging for the Crop Over 2026 season with the release of their latest project, the Peach Riddim. Released on May 22, 2026, the riddim features an exciting lineup of artists including Walkes, Scrilla, Sackie, Fari, Freshie, Menacing 83, and Jayexxx, with the project already generating major reactions across social media and streaming platforms just one week after its release. The Peach Riddim has also been receiving strong support from local radio stations, earning regular rotation across Barbados' airwaves while drawing positive feedback from fans and DJs alike. Many listeners have praised the project for its infectious energy, catchy hooks, and the diversity of styles brought by each artist on the riddim. For Noize Boyz, the early momentum is nothing new. The Barbadian production trio has established itself as one of the island's most successful and influential music production outfits over the past several years. Their catalogue includes a number of notable projects such as the Red Dead Riddim, Lawrd Havus Mercy Riddim, RH Riddim, Slot Machine Riddim, Jab Bell Riddim, and more, helping to launch and elevate songs from some of Barbados' most recognizable soca and bashment soca talents. The team is best known for producing Brucelee Almightee's "Mauby," which captured the 2022 Barbados Road March title, before returning to Road March glory in 2024 with "Tomorrow." Those victories cemented Noize Boyz as one of the premier hit making production teams in Barbados. Beyond their Road March success, the trio has built a reputation for creating music that consistently resonates with the road, the fetes, and the wider Caribbean audience. Their ability to blend contemporary soca, bashment soca, dancehall, and Caribbean rhythms has made the Noize Boyz brand a staple of the Crop Over soundtrack in recent years. Jamaican hitmaker Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor has once again stamped his authority on the dancehall scene with the release of his latest production, the “Hill & Gully Riddim.” Known for crafting some of the genre’s most influential sounds, the veteran producer taps into both tradition and modern energy on this new project, delivering a riddim that feels equally nostalgic and forward thinking. True to classic dancehall format, the riddim is structured as an open platform for multiple artists, allowing a variety of voices and styles to ride the same instrumental. Early cuts and previews have already surfaced featuring names like Elephant Man, Goavana and Masicka, with more expected to follow as the riddim gains traction across the Caribbean and beyond. The title itself draws from the iconic Jamaican phrase “hill and gully,” symbolizing balance, contrast, and adaptability, an idea deeply rooted in the culture and often reflected in dancehall music. Di Genius channels that concept into a soundscape that blends old-school bounce with a modern edge, creating a riddim that feels both grounded and globally competitive. With “Hill & Gully Riddim,” Di Genius reinforces his reputation as one of dancehall’s most consistent innovators. As more artists jump on the beat and the riddim continues to circulate in parties, radio, and DJ sets, it’s shaping up to be another major entry in the 2026 dancehall cycle one built for energy, versatility, and pure Caribbean vibe. by @dibbyness
