Tansi, Diera Gutowski nitisinihkason. Ochi nina Opaskwayak Cree Nation. — Hello, My name is Diera Gutowski, I am from Opaskwayak Cree Nation. My heritage is Swampy Cree from Northern Manitoba. From a young age my Kookum (grandmother) has taught me many things; The freedom of expression - to working with my hands, using the resources the land has provided us. In Cree culture, we are taught to respect the earth we walk on as it is our mother, to respect each other and move with appreciation. Fashion has always been a huge aspect of my life and a deep love of mine. “Diera” is a tribute to my heritage; a brand created with threads of culture and community.
