Happy Thursday 💚

Continuing ‘Annuals in my garden’ No. 4 is ..

🧡 French Marigolds 🧡

Here’s a few good reasons to grow them

🌸 Excellent companion plants for Tomatoes/Peppers🌸 Strong smell deters pests
🌸 Pollinators adore them
🌸 Low maintenance
🌸 Easy to collect seeds from
🌸 Self seed
🌸 Attracts beneficial predatory insects
🌸 Adds colour to a garden planting scheme

so a good bet in any garden 🐝🧡💚

Hope you have terrific Thursdays all 🙌🧡💚

Happy Wednesday 💚

I had the pleasure of this little featured friends company all morning

The logical Tash knows it’s because I’m digging up its lunch

The spiritual Tash truly believes the saying

“When Robins appear, loved ones are near”

Folklore says they carry the spirit of passed loved ones ….

..what a lovely comforting thought ❤️

What wildlife have you spotted today ?

Cheeky little harvest of Tomatoes, Chillis and French beans

Also made a crumble from some previously harvested Blackberries from our garden and some donated Rhubarb

Love this grow your own malarky, especially when I can cook with it 🥰

Happy Saturday 💚

A reminder to leave it messy (should remind myself this does NOT apply to greenhouses 😎)

Now the nights/mornings are cooler critters are searching for shelter in the gardens

Seed heads such as Echinopps and Hollyhocks can provide a safe haven for them so if you are cutting back please check for ladybirds and firebugs and the like

Seed heads also provide food sources for wildlife too as well as providing Winter interest so all good reasons to live with some old flowers stalks and ‘mess’

Do you clear away in Autumn ?

Happy Tuesday 💚

#tomatotuesday is very much winding down but we still have a few fruits on the plants, probably due to the Polytunnel

Still enjoying our making and eating our fresh tomato sauce and still preserving some

Is 🍅 Tuesday still a thing where you are ?

Happy Saturday 💚

Probably not what certain people on here were expecting but I present to you …

…the very first Melon I’ve ever grown ! 🍈

I actually found it by accident as I was faffing in the Polytunnel as noticed one of the plants had flopped ..

It’s not the largest but I’m incredibly proud 😊

Have you grown Melons this year ?
