THE FOCUS

Issa Muhammad. Omar Hamid.

No posing.
No performance.

Just locked into the moment.

When something is worth hearing,
you lean in. by @digiq.qa

THE WORK

The season gets the attention.
The off-season does the work.

For Brenden Tucker, the next season in Qatar starts in the reps, the details and the hours nobody sees.

No crowd.
No scoreboard.
No shortcuts.

Just work before it counts. by @digiq.qa

THE EXCHANGE

Different reads on the same game.

A thought.
A story.
A point of view you hadn’t considered.

The best conversations leave you with something. by @digiq.qa

THE FIRST V

Somewhere between the plan
and the moment, this happened.

No introduction.
No agenda.
Just the kind of conversation that runs longer than expected — and the laugh that comes with it.

You can curate the room.
You can’t script the chemistry. by @digiq.qa

THE FIRST V

For a room full of competitors,
things got comfortable pretty quickly.

Old friends. New faces.
A few stories getting better with every retelling.

Different circles. One room.
Exactly where they were supposed to cross. by @digiq.qa

THE FIRST V

Good food.
Better company.

A table full of people who probably have more basketball stories than there was time to tell.

Some were shared.
Some stayed at the table.

Consider this one for the archives. by @digiq.qa

YASSEIN ABOUELAINEIN

THE NEXT

Yassein Abouelainein isn’t here because of what he’s already done. He’s here because of what could come next.

At 1.94m, the young guard-forward represents a generation of Qatar basketball still writing its first chapters.

Two years of high school basketball in Connecticut gave him an early look at the game beyond home. The Jr. NBA program in Abu Dhabi added another perspective. Now, with Al-Wakrah, he’s taking his first steps into the senior game — surrounded by players whose journeys offer a glimpse of where basketball can lead.

At THE FIRST V, that matters.

Because passing the game forward means making room for the ones coming next.

The story is still unwritten.
That’s the point.

IBOU SARR

THE SECOND ACT

Ibou Sarr stopped playing. He never left the game.

From representing Senegal to a career spanning Qatar and Morocco, Ibou built his game on the work that rarely asks for attention but always matters — defending, rebounding and protecting the rim.

Across Al-Ahli, Al-Gharafa, Qatar SC, Al-Shamal and Al-Sadd, he became part of different eras of Qatar basketball. When the playing stopped, his role simply evolved.

Today, as strength & conditioning coach at Al-Wakrah, Ibou turns experience into something the next generation can use — sharing what he knows with young players like Yassein Abouelainein.

His influence also moves beyond the court through @damels_collection_1 — with his friend Yusef Aziz wearing one of his pieces in this very frame.

Experience passed down.
Friendship worn with style.
The second act is already in motion.

BRENDEN TUCKER

THE SPARK

Some players follow the rhythm of a game. Brenden Tucker changes it.

Raised in Georgia, the American combo guard built his foundation across 134 NCAA games, with chapters at the College of Charleston and Georgia State. A 35-point night at Charleston offered an early glimpse of what happens when Tucker catches fire.

He brought that same instinct to Qatar.

From Qatar Sports Club to Al-Wakrah, Brenden has developed into more than a scorer — blending athleticism, three-point range and playmaking with the confidence to take over when the game opens up. A recent 55-point stretch across two games, including a 22-point, 8-rebound, 7-assist performance, showed both sides of his game.

Score it. Create it. Change it.

When Tucker finds his rhythm,
everyone else has to adjust.

ISSA MUHAMMAD

THE ASCENT

Issa Muhammad’s journey has always been about the next level.

Raised in Atlanta, the 2.06m power forward built his path step by step — from Daytona State to Northwest Florida State, where he became an NJCAA National Champion, before moving into Division I basketball with New Mexico State and UT Martin.

By his final college season, Issa was averaging 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds, combining size and physicality with a game increasingly capable of stretching beyond the paint.

Then the journey went international.

Mexico. Europe. Now Doha.

Today with Al-Ahli, Issa brings every stop with him — the rebounding, the range, the experience, and the ambition to keep moving forward.

No shortcuts. No skipped steps.
Just the next level.

HOUSSEM SAKKA

THE CULTURE

Houssem Sakka left the court. Basketball never really left him.

Raised in Tunisia with the game as part of his world, Houssem carried that influence to Doha, where he founded HERO in 2009.

Then the chair became his new court.

Over the years, Houssem built a world of his own — barbering, art, style, entrepreneurship and sport all moving in the same orbit. His chair became a familiar stop for athletes and international names passing through Doha, while his creative language continued to draw from basketball, hip-hop and street culture.

Different craft.
Same instinct.

Because leaving the game doesn’t always mean leaving its culture.

The ball left his hands.
The culture never did.

ABDELRAHMAN “YEHIA” ABDELHALEEM

THE CONSTANT

Different jerseys. Different chapters. Same presence.

For more than a decade, Yehia has been part of Qatar basketball — from Al-Rayyan and Al-Wakrah to BK Sabah in Azerbaijan, and now Al-Arabi.

At 2.04m, the Qatar international brings the modern power-forward mix: size, rebounding and the ability to stretch the floor from three. But his story is also one of longevity — representing Qatar while the game, the teams and the generations around him continued to change.

Through every chapter, Yehia kept competing.
Kept adapting.
Kept showing up.

The game keeps moving.
So does Yehia.
