Na matou tutu laau mai nei - In the journey to where we are today, we’ve rested under many trees.

Trees in our islands provide food, shelter, medicine, cloth/tapa, canoes; but in the proverb the trees are our ancestors. The shade they provide gives us comfort in times of struggle and strife. I follow the guidance of my mother, father, brother and sister. Without them I would not be where I am today. I am excited to see what kind shade/legacy I will provide to future generations yet to come. by @dijonshotz
