Na matou tutu laau mai nei - In the journey to where we are today, we’ve rested under many trees.

Trees in our islands provide food, shelter, medicine, cloth/tapa, canoes; but in the proverb the trees are our ancestors. The shade they provide gives us comfort in times of struggle and strife. I follow the guidance of my mother, father, brother and sister. Without them I would not be where I am today. I am excited to see what kind shade/legacy I will provide to future generations yet to come.

I am officially an alumna of the University of California, Irvine🎓

First and foremost, thank you God. None of this would have been possible without your guidance and grace, and through every high and low, you were there for me through it all.

To my family, thank you for believing in me and supporting me through every season. Your sacrifices and love made my accomplishments possible.

To my friends, thank you for the memories and support that made these past four years unforgettable. The experiences we shared are what I will cherish most from my time at UCI.

To my prophytes of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Lambda Sigma Chapter, thank you for choosing me, uplifting me, and guiding me through my college experience and beyond. Becoming a member of the first Black Greek-letter sorority has been one of the greatest blessings of my collegiate journey, and I thank you for helping me recognize the persistence, strength and confidence that were within me. It has been an honor and a privilege to learn from and be surrounded by such illustrious women, and the lessons, love and bonds I have gained through Alpha Kappa Alpha will stay with me for a lifetime.

UCI, thank you for the memories, and my journey continues at the California State University, Northridge to pursue my Masters in Psychology in the Fall.

During our recent Charter Week, we, the Gentlemen of the Mu Chi Chapter continued our proud tradition of honoring the achievements and profound contributions of the Black Women on our campus in our annual Black Women's Appreciation Dinner! 🖤🧊

As Black men, we hold a vital responsibility to cherish the women in our community. We formally honor the sacrifices they make to lead, uplift, and serve, all while excelling in their academic and professional careers. 👸🏽💛

Last month, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Mu Chi Chapter, proudly hosted our Annual Charter Week in honor of the Chapter's 49th Anniversary.

The week featured intentional programming centered on service, fellowship, community advocacy, and honoring our Black female leaders. From promoting health and wellness within the CSULB community to strengthening bonds through friendly competition, each event reflected our commitment to excellence.
