Reflecting on our Açık Büfe event—an evening of shared stories, flavors, and conversations. 🤍 Teaspoon Projects x Dil Collective | Open Buffet 🤍

Threads of sugar dissolve on the tongue like words spoken, forgotten, or lost in translation. Pişmaniye—light as memory, delicate as language—pulls us back home while stretching away like something just out of reach.

At Open Buffet, we explored how the tongue speaks—both physically and metaphorically—to notions of home, identity, and belonging. Language shapes us, connects us, and sometimes leaves us unraveling.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in this immersive gathering, where taste, text, and touch intertwined. More to come soon.

ℐ𝓃𝓉𝓇𝑜𝒹𝓊𝒸𝒾𝓃𝑔 👅🥄 Ayshe-Mira Yashin & Pedro Reséndez

Teaspoon Projects and Dil Collective are dilighted to have Ayshe-Mira and Pedro leading the workshop portion of Açık Büfe (Open Buffet)
Together, they will guide a collaborative creative journey, exploring the textual and visual dimensions of language.

Ayshe-Mira Yashin is an illustrator currently studying at Camberwell College of Arts. Her practice spans across multimedia textile collage, bookbinding, analogue printmaking, and period-blood painting. She has explored themes of witchcraft and matriarchal mythology and is currently working on a project using narrative illustration to illuminate covert and underrepresented information about British Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus. Her work has been exhibited in Burned House Horizon at Mimosa House (London, 2025), Manifestations: Views of the Otherworldly in Painting and Drawing at NiMAC (Nicosia, 2024), and Do You Buy This? at Ugly Duck (London, 2023).

Pedro Reséndez is an artist whose work explores methods of collaborative engagement, emphasizing the construction of relationships grounded in trust, where steps are taken collectively, and voices overlap. His practice engages with factual events, historical occurrences, and mythical narratives through mechanical compositions, sound, speculation, and collective action. In 2020, he founded CALACA PRESS, a publishing studio that operates as a platform for exchange, approaching publishing as an interdisciplinary practice that shares, disrupts, and generates culture through collective inquiry.

8 Vineyard Residency

8 Vine Yard is a project housed in a temporarily disused warehouse, reimagined as a platform for dialogue, experimentation, and exchange. Over the course of three months, the space hosts exhibitions, artist residencies, and collaborative programming, fostering connections between artists and audiences. With studios integrated into the exhibition space, the project creates an environment where making and showing coexist, encouraging fluid interactions between works, artists, and visitors.

Dil Collective, as current residents, have embraced this approach — using the residency as a space to interrogate the relationship between language, culture, and collectivity. Their work, shaped by their time embedded within Vine Yard, becomes both a reflection of and a contribution to the project’s wider ethos of exchange and process-based inquiry.

Announcing DİL Collective (@dilcollective) as the Final Artists for the 8 Vine Yard Residency

We’re excited to welcome DİL Collective, the artist duo of Duru Bebekoğlu and Yasemin Günhoş, to the 8 Vine Yard Residency.

Rooted in their Turkish heritage, DİL—meaning “tongue” in Turkish—explores language as a vessel for identity, memory, and belonging. Their collaborative practice moves across installation, multimedia, and performance, investigating the ways language shapes thought and cultural connection.

Duru, a narrative-driven artist known as HOGİNSAN, weaves storytelling, mythology, and the taste of home into her work, often using Turkish cuisine as a sensory bridge to memory and heritage. Yasemin’s practice delves into the fluidity of identity through digital and physical spaces, questioning the boundaries between the real and the virtual. Together, they create immersive works that give form to the unspoken and the unseen.

At 8 Vine Yard, DİL Collective will expand their practice within a shared studio, creating larger-scale installations and interactive works that engage with themes of language, migration, and collective memory. Their time in the residency will also include workshops and open studios, fostering dialogue around cultural identity and artistic exchange.

@dilcollective will be making use of “Studio Four”. If you would like to arrange a studio visit with the residents, please DM or email josephinemaybailey@gmail.com by @dilcollective
