“Loaded with the monstrous imagination of archipelagic thinking, ‘Galleon Dreaming: An Anthology of Dark Fiction from the Philippine Diaspora’ is visceral and fierce in its commitment to how narrative and language function as a medium of accessing the very place that evades definition: the vivid dream of home. This anthology is a talisman of myth and memory, of folklore and fantasy, against the fear of forgetting and the terror of remembering.”

—Angela Gabrielle Fabunan, poet and author of The Sea That Beckoned, Young Enough to Play, and Migratory Notes.

* * *

Angela Gabrielle Fabunan @angelagabriellefabunan has authored the poetry collections Young Enough to Play (University of the Philippines Press, 2022) and The Sea That Beckoned (Platypus Press, 2019); and a book of essays, Migratory Notes (Vibal Publishing, 2025).

She holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature from Bowdoin College, Maine.

Her poetry has been recognized by the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature (2016). Her research has received the Rutan Grant for Theater (2010) as well as the Gibbons Fellowship (2011). She has worked with the Association of Writers & Writing Programs as a poetry mentor, as well as the poetry magazine Palette Poetry as a regular guest editor.

"GALLEON DREAMING comes in various forms of writing and captures various manifestations of what it means to be a Filipino. Interestingly, this summarizes the Filipino experience; that is, we're Filipinos with various experiences, united by the oneness of our soul . . . I loved every piece!"

—Camilla Andrea, Author of Silang Mga Puta at Banal and Co-author of Deus EX Manila

* * *
A scientist turned storyteller, Camilla crafts narratives that explore the strange, the unsettling, and the deeply human. Her work moves through the spaces where judgment, memory, and resistance collide—revealing characters who refuse to be reduced to what society calls them.

SILANG MGA PUTA AT BANAL explores women trapped between the labels of the world—saint or sinner, sacred or condemned. Within these stories, those labels begin to fracture.

DEUS EX MANILA explores hi-tech futures, survival games, Artificial Intelligence overreach, and how to navigate the future in Metro Manila. by @dilim.press

Inspired by the ingenuity their ancestors exemplify, Michael Oliveros roots themselves in rich legacies of queer refusal and Philippine resilience. A graduate of University of Illinois in 2023, their love for their communities compelled them to obtain a bachelor’s in Global Asian Studies and Gender/Women's Studies. As a storyteller, their work reckons with apocalypse, diving into haunted trenches of memory to imagine alternative futures. Their work interrogates survivability, willpower, and care. Publications include The Revival 회복 Guidebook (KAN-WIN, 2024) and They, Singular (2020). When not writing, find them running around Chicago, racing against the wind.
