Ace Dimalanta (she/her) is a dance instructor specializing in hip hop choreography. She currently studies & practices several dances, including: contemporary, jazz, ballet, house, vogue femme, tutting, and waving. She is also an instructor at broadway babies and kids (@broadwaybabiesandkids) Ace is a founder of BABA G @bayareabandsandartists.ag and hosts concerts as DJ Di-¢ENT (@dicent.wav) She believes that art, especially music & dance, is the ultimate form of resistance. ----- Class Format ------ Introduction Warm up Movement & Stretches Explore & Apply Build Choreo Present Cool Down ---------------------------- A note from the instructor: This class is designed to introduce movement through a community gathering, following a “workshop” format. Choreography will be created live, in real time. I want my students to focus on building their technique through collaborative efforts with each other. It makes learning more fun and easy! Their Problem, Not Mine - @bambudepistola i met Bambu at a release party for this album and he wrote next to his signature to "serve the people". i took that to heart. using this song, i hope to influence others to incorporate conscious hip hop back into choreography again. after spending time as an actress and singer, i incorporated what i knew to this choreography process. i created this in around 40 minutes, so i want to iron out those edges. im proud of this work. by @dimadancing

Their Problem, Not Mine - @bambudepistola this piece was fueled with anger about complacency, on a global scale and a communal scale. it exists all around us, and only if we, as artists, empower ourselves to form activism through our art will we be able to do any sort of change in ourselves. we hope it empowers you, the viewer, to do the same. by @dimadancing
