Year six. The countdown to this day was particularly hard this year. The knowledge that it is approaching, ever present and clawing. It will forever be that as I close out a trip around the sun, I am called back to the moment I got the call. I watch our nieces, nephew, and godchildren grow older and outward into the world and it is always bittersweet. Every milestone I quietly celebrate for them is also a reminder that you are not here to share in that joy. We all miss you Kevin. We love you so very much. Still heartbroken. by @dimcguire

It's #medalmonday and year 3 of @aroundthecrown10k was the best yet!! I had a BLAST with all my @madmilesrunclub family and our visiting run cousins from all over the country. Shaved 72 seconds off my best 10K time!! I'm so thankful for my #runclub family. The way we keep showing up for each other in our journeys is an amazing gift. When I visited CLT 3 years ago to tour the city to see if it was a good fit, I came to a Tuesday run. It is not an over statement to say that the experience made my decision a lot easier. These photos are a small glimpse of the joy and community I've been blessed with since I arrived 2 years ago. Much of that blessing stems from relationships that began at #madmilesrunclub. Being a part of this club has afforded me the opportunity on many occasions to bear witness as people learn to believe in themselves, and dare to not only surpass their own expectations; but break free from limitations placed on them by others. We champion each other's wins, share our losses, and shoulder burdens for one another. At a time when bad actors are constantly at work to fracture our communities and disband safe spaces we curate for ourselves, it is imperative that we use our powers of discernment more meticulously. These images are joy. These images are community. These images are love for the Culture. These images are @madmilesrunclub by @dimcguire

So I did a thing ... On this #medalmonday🏅 I'm celebrating completing my 1st Half Marathon, @charlotteracefest !!! Y'all it was A LOT. The constant mental gymnastics, the heat, the last five miles of leg cramps. Whew!! OMG!! But I did not stop and I'm super proud of myself for that. I still get emotional thinking about those last moments before the finish line. A cheer squad will indeed save your life. @envy_elaine @dbenders @cuteandclassy @demetria_senor and my @madmilesrunclub family had my back. This kind of community is not to be taken for granted.
