Yesterday, students from my printmaking class gave a live printing demonstration for UTSA students who were passing by. Although it began slowly, more and more students eventually stopped to watch the printing process. My Advanced Printmaking class was assigned to create a design printed as a business card using a tortilla and a hand-levered press. Additionally, as part of the assignment, they had the option to distribute some of these printed business cards with contact information to start networking. I’m grateful to the students for making this experience memorable. @utsa.school.of.art by @diosprints

Art is a powerful force at every moment in history, and in especially difficult moments it is even more vital. It can be a manual for resisting, a release valve, or a reminder of our humanity. Artists in this show, across two venues, invite viewers to oppose dehumanizing systems with creativity, humor, and beauty.

2026 calendars are available now. Each one costs $120. This is a hand-printed etching featuring an original “santoral” (monthly sheet calendar). Don’t miss out on this year’s calendar.

Finally, I got the chance to print this etching/aquatint for the 2026 calendar design. I titled it “Chipil,” which means a childish attitude and someone who seeks attention.

I would like to express my gratitude to The University of Texas Permian Basin and @pots_n_prints for inviting me and hosting me to create this multicolor relief print titled “Pimpeado.” Special thanks to Mario Kiran (@mario_kiran), an outstanding printmaker and professor, for inviting me to visit, and to the UTPB students for their kind help and company. The week was both intense and enjoyable. Mario, the UTPB printmaking professor, was very involved and welcoming. I appreciate this amazing experience and look forward to collaborating with UTPB again in the future. by @diosprints
