I had the pleasure of finally attending the @nwtuneup in Bellingham,WA. The fine folks at @freehubmag have been peer pressuring me to attend for years and it was awesome to finally make it happen.
Bikes, friends, bikes, and more bikes…and I also got to see @soulsofmischief put on an amazing show. Hopefully it won’t be another 6 years before I get to return to Bellingham 🍻 taken in Bellingham, Washington by @dirty_biker

I have been gone all summer, but I took advantage of the long holiday weekend to go home and witness the atrocity of the border fence construction in the San Rafael Valley. It hurt so much to watch the destruction from afar on a screen. I just couldn’t believe that it was happening.

I visited with the amazing activists who have been holding the line for over a month. Sitting in trees and putting their bodies in front of the construction machinery to stop the advancing fence. As I type this, they have successfully stopped all construction. Protecting centuries old cottonwoods, habitat, and critical migration corridors from the ignorance of xenophobia.
I wanted to document this scene, not to sensationalize it. But for my friend’s children. I remember being a kid and watching the Berlin Wall come down. I hope that they get to witness this embarrassment crumble. I hope they will know there were citizens who tried to stop it from happening in the first place.

With tired eyes and only a few hundred miles under our belt, we stopped early on the first day of our summer road trip in Salina, UT. We grabbed a cheap motel room as the smoke of the Cottonwood fire billowed overhead. We shared the motel with a bunch of firefighters who just finished their stint on the blaze. They were scattered about, all on their phones, reconnecting with their loved ones. Much respect.
Little did we know ,24 hours and 900 miles of driving later, a fire would be knocking on the door of our house back in Colorado. We know that the firefighters are on the job and doing everything in their power to save structures…it’s all in Mother Nature’s hands now. taken in Salina, Utah by @dirty_biker

Back in August, I found some ridiculously cheap flights to Portugal for the week around Thanksgiving. So we bought the tickets and took the ride. No bicycles were involved. Just a week of exploring, eating and drinking our way through the cities of Porto and Nazare. We ate so many amazing meals, met a bunch of great people, saw some live music, and generally had our minds blown by how fantastic Portugal is. I had hoped to see the famous giant waves of Nazare, but we were a few days too early. But we did get to see a sailboat run itself aground. 🤷‍♀️

More often than not, when a memory pops up this old I cringe a little. But this day, 13 years ago, changed the game for me. I was never a big fan of moving bodies of water. But my curiosity was stronger than my fear.
A used @alpacka_raft they were nice enough to sell me from their demo fleet, a nerdy @salsacycles Mukluk fatbike, and a couple days to connect the dots on the map around the Verde River in central AZ. Holy shit, did I get out of my comfort zone and walk away with my mind blown by the possibilities of combining these two tools. I don’t think twice about this type of multi-sporting now. In fact I seek them out. I just had to get this first time out of the way.
Forever in debt to the inspiration and encouragement from OGs like @republicofdoom and @dialroman - water isn’t just for drinking in the desert. 🙏🍻

The @sideponyexpress music festival happens every November in Bisbee, AZ. For 3 days, dozens of bars, stores, galleries, and town parks turn into music venues. 150-ish different bands come from all over the west to play and it’s all free for attendees.
I’ve long been obsessed with live music photography and it is a real treat to simply walk down the street from my house and point my camera at so many different bands. I appreciate the venues and the bands for letting me be in their space for a few songs while I nerd-out with my camera. Here are a few of my favorite memories from the weekend….oh, and there was mud wrestling too.

I recently had the opportunity to travel to @seaottereurope in Girona, Spain with my old pal @adam.miller907 to meet up with his newest team rider @jordi_sala_biker - it was a whirlwind trip of trade show and bike riding. But one major highlight was being treated to an amazing meal at @ham_session , Jordi’s family Jamon business.
To see such a talented young rider, being so pro and have so many fans was a pleasure. I can’t wait to ride with everyone again!
