10 years ago I married the love of my life @zotia_gems To think it’s already been a decade as husband & wife is crazy. We’ve been through so many insane obstacles, but also so many amazing blessings. Luckily we have each other through it all. Happy Anniversary! I love you bug, here’s to a lifetime more ❤️ by @dirtyfacefaust
FEBRUARY/MARCH ‘26 READS I got a lil lazy with posting & took the month of March off from reading so here’s a belated post to technically cover both months (even those I read all these in February). To continue with the yearly theme of MADNESS I decided to hop into some classics along with a handy-dandy manual of sorts. MAUS is a 2 volume graphic novel that details the experiences the author’s father endured in the Auschwitz & Birkenau concentration camps during WW2 which is drawn using a Cat (Nazi) & Mouse (Jew) metaphor. FAHRENHEIT 451 is set in a fictional American dystopia where books are illegal & firemen are the ones who destroy them. The title refers to the temperature at which paper burns. FIGHTING TYRANNY was a 2 book manual showcasing the historically best non-violent methods to get your community/nation activated in order to resist dictatorships. Every book contains lessons, but ones depicting fascism the lessons cut deeper. ————————————————— Page Count: MAUS - 300 F451 - 250 FT - 240 Total - 990 by @dirtyfacefaust
JANUARY ‘26 READS It’s a new year and that means some new books! I’ve decided to do something a little different this year & encapsulate everything into one theme: MADNESS This theme not only captures the current state of affairs/vibe of the country/world but will allow me to pick whatever books I want to read, whenever I want instead of having to wait for a specific month. ONE DAY… read as a “heartsick breakup letter with the West” that critiques the hypocrisy, imperialism, and double standards applied to marginalized communities - particularly in the context of the Gaza genocide. IF ANYONE BUILDS IT… is a fascinating read about the very real potential dangers of creating artificial super intelligence (like a skynet). It was written by 2 members of the tech community who were initially immersed in building AI for top companies & recognized early on the threats it could create. —————————— Page Count: ODEWHBAT - 187 IABIED - 233 Total - 420 #books #explorepage✨ #education #madness by @dirtyfacefaust
1 week into 2026 so here’s my 2025 reading recap! My total for the year was 35 books! I was very glad to get back into the swing of things reading wise. Got to cover a large array of topics I’ve either already been heavily into or was just picking apart for the first time. The monthly themes got to be a bit too much at times so for this year we’re going to try something new. This way I can breathe easier while also not having to wait to read certain books! Reading/education is extremely important the older we get, & with the state of our country right now it’s going to potentially get worse. So arm yourself with the best weapon you have: your brain! #books #monthlybookchallenge #education by @dirtyfacefaust
DECEMBER ‘25 READS This final monthly theme for 2025 was TRUE CRIME. I wanted to close the year out with a book I had stopped halfway through & the one my wife gave me last Christmas Eve for our tradition. CHAOS was a solid dissection of the Tate - LaBianca murder cases. It was a 20 year investigation filled with interviews bringing info to light such as Bugliosi potentially fabricating HELTER SKELTER, loosely(?) connecting Manson to MK Ultra, & showing how this event marked a critical/ironic ending to the 1960s. MH is John Douglas’ 1st hand account of him entering & essentially perfecting the FBI’s Behavior Science Unit. He & his partners are credited with coining the term “serial killer” & the profiling methods in order to catch them. His career spanned from 1970-1995, so a lot of the cases he worked on are iconic. Entire read was a ripper. I enjoyed doing these themed months but for the new year I’m going to try some new. Sort of themed but with less restrictions. Also going to try some different content formats & not just for books 😂 Happy New Year everyone! 🫡 ❤️ —————————— Page Count: CHAOS - 436 MH - 409 Total - 845 by @dirtyfacefaust
NOVEMBER ‘25 READS This month’s theme was INDIGENOUS PEOPLES HISTORY. As a long time student/re-enactor of US history, the history of what has systematically been done to the native people of the Americas is so overlooked/downplayed that we often forget just how atrocious the game against them has been rigged. So I figured a refresher course was in order & these 2 recent publications were a good intro. IPHUS is an intricate look into the entirety of what has been done to every tribe within the US & Canada. From extorting then rejecting treaties to the fixation of the “assimilation”/elimination of all tribal culture. MR was a good segue way into a more niche topic that was discussed in a few chapters of IPHUS. It recounts the trauma/abuse at the “Indian Boarding Schools” the federal gov forced Native people into sending their youth, & how the experiences of the author’s mother shaped their family. —————————— Page Count: IPH - 236 MR - 236 Total - 472 by @dirtyfacefaust

OCTOBER ‘25 READS This month’s theme was CULTS PT 3 - CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM. This theme was something I’ve encountered throughout my personal life, & with the looming state of oppression in the name of “spiritual warfare” I figured, hey, why not right? (Plus education these days is mighty important) SEPARATION is a newly published work that breaks down evangelical claims & debunks them using the only counter argument - JESUS. J&JW discusses the history of American evangelism morphing itself into rejecting the empathetic version of Christ, & instead opting for an über masculine (& at times blood lusty) version - with the byproduct being which conservative Presidential candidates will play ball with a quid-pro-quo. *You’ll notice I did not dress up “in theme” this month. That’s because October ended with Halloween, & being a banana is cooler than being a white Christian Nationalist.* —————————— Page Count: SEPARATION - 283 J&JW - 304 Total - 587 #books #monthlyreads #cult by @dirtyfacefaust
SEPTEMBER ‘25 READS This month’s theme was DYSTOPIAN FICTION REVISITED via a 4 novel compilation by the prolific author Philip K Dick. The book was part of the stack I received for my birthday this year & I was excited to read it as I’ll be continuing this theme more in coming months due to the current state of affairs 🤙 😃 The Man In The High Castle is a rewrite on world history is the Axis Powers had won WW2 instead. 20 years post war America has been split between the German Reich & Imperial Empire, & its citizens are surviving in different ways. However, a book with profound ideas is circulating & getting attention, leading people to question their lives. (Also made into an Amazon show). The 3 Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch is a sci-fy exploration where Mars has been colonized due to Earth’s temperature, & a hallucinogenic drug called Can-D is part of the culture/interstellar economy. That is until a rogue “madman” introduces a competing new drug, with a more personalized experience that is too good to be true. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is another sci-fy dystopia where inter-planetary colonization exists but those still on Earth, such as a corporate androids & our protagonist bounty hunter, are ravaged by the environment, causing them to follow a weird “religion” where animal empathy is the highest accord due to their endangerment/extinction. UBIK takes on a world where psychics on an operation have espionage committed against them & it’s a race to the clock to find out what really happened & which version of their accounts is the truth. —————————— Page Count: TMITHC - 229 T3SOPE - 199 DADOES - 178 UBIK - 190 Total - 798 by @dirtyfacefaust
All of us Americans right now are living through the most turbulent time in our nation’s history. People say this every decade, but nothing has come close to the magnitude of this year’s events. Today was a shocking & despicable act of gun violence, and while the aftermath is probably going to make things worse, PLEASE: educate yourselves, participate in your community, hug your loved ones, & keep your attention focused to what matters. If you aren’t loud then GET LOUD & DON’T LET UP THE PRESSURE. by @dirtyfacefaust
AUGUST ‘25 READS This month’s theme was LINGUISTICS - FEMINISM. I decided to give myself a lil break this month with only one book. Linguistics have always been a fun topic to study, and since I’ve read Amanda Montell’s other books I figured it was time to read her first - WORDSLUT. This book discusses the differences in terminology of slurs, along with other lexicon, from the male & female POV & how history has shaped these & other words/phrases to morph or even change over centuries. All of this is also discussed inside the greater idea of feminism within the patriarchal establishment; not just in a sociological context, but within etymology as a whole. Her other works are: CULTISH: The Language of Fanaticism & The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality. —————————— Page Count: WS - 288 by @dirtyfacefaust
JULY ‘25 READS This month’s theme was FICTION - DYSTOPIAN. As society inches more & more towards the edge I thought it good to re-read 2 of my favorites plus one I actually haven’t read before. All 3 of these are infamous literary classics so if you are not familiar with the plot you’ve still most likely seen/heard references in other forms of media; but I still suggest you familiarize yourself. “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
