It’s been one month since we officially introduced the concept of METAL FEET to the world.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Introducing Metal Feet film and live showcase at @michigancentral during Detroit Month of Design. The love and support have meant more to me than words can express.

A special thank you to all of my friends who collaborated with me to bring this vision to life. Thank you for sharing your time, energy, creativity, and talent with this project. I truly appreciate each and every one of you. None of this would have been possible without you.

To my family, thank you for always being there, believing in me, and giving me the confidence to continue doing what I love. @yolandawlms, you and the boys are my greatest source of inspiration. I thank God for you every day.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to create, collaborate, and share something so personal with the world.

Thank you all for being part of this journey. Thank you to everyone purchased an album! This is only the beginning.

CAN I PLAY YOU SOMETHING?
We started Can I Play You Something? because we understand that what a person listens to tells you a lot about who they are.

So we created a conversation series around that idea — playing music, asking questions and letting the songs shape the conversation.

We’re debuting the series during Detroit Month of Design with our family @callmegt @Charity at @Xhibition_

GT | Friday, September 18th 6-8Pm

Man! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the VIP viewing of Introducing Metal Feet at @assemblesound.

There’s something special about finally sharing a project that has meant so much to me with some of our closest friends, family, and community. Those are the moments that make all of the work behind the scenes worth it.

Creating art is one thing. Sharing it with the world is another. It requires vulnerability because once you release something you’ve poured yourself into, you never really know how it will be received. But that’s also part of what makes creating so powerful.

And being able to create alongside your friends is a blessing. We’re incredibly grateful to @jr.got.the.hits for the collaboration, the creativity, and most importantly, the friendship that helped bring Introducing Metal Feet to life.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, Tito’s Vodka and Earth 2 Earth, for supporting the evening. And a very special thank you to @garretkoehler for opening the doors of Assemble Sound to us and hosting the artist talk. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share this moment with.

If you couldn’t make it, we’re doing it again.

METAL FEET LIVE! On September 11, we’re bringing Introducing Metal Feet to Michigan Central for Fridays at the Station, presented as part of Detroit Month of Design.

Introducing Metal Feet is an exploration of tap as more than movement — treating the feet as percussion, the floor as an instrument, and rhythm as the foundation for creating music.

Come experience the project live in one of Detroit’s most iconic spaces.

FRIDAYS AT THE STATION
Michigan Central | Detroit, MI
September 11, 2026
6PM–10PM (Ticket Link in Bio)

Featuring Rick Williams on taps
Arranged, produced, mixed & mastered by JR.Got.The.Hits

In September, Detroit Month of Design is taking over Fridays at The Station.

Michigan Central and Design Core are bringing together film, live performance, music, conversation, installations, and more for a night celebrating Detroit’s creative energy.

Experience Introducing Metal Feet, a short documentary chronicling the making of Rick Williams’ original vinyl album in collaboration with producer JRGottheHits, followed by a live tap performance from Rick Williams (Metal Feet) and a live band, with DJ BlaaqGold and special guests.

Across The Station, explore:
💬 A conversation in The Study with Jaimelyn Neher, Salam Rida, Daniel Tomczak, and Kiana Wenzell, followed by music from EDNA on the Bing Audio soundsystem
🎨 New and in-progress work from designers throughout the Grand Hall
🏗️ An outdoor installation by Salam Rida
🛍️ Local shopping, food, drinks, and more

Come see what happens when design moves beyond what we see and into what we hear, feel, and experience.
