One of our favorite Porto bars. Around since the 1980’s Pipa Velha is a wonderful bar to explore and experience. Enjoy your drinks out on the street, in the bar or out in the terrace. Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Lancers last month! We beat the heat by being seranaded with island music and Dolly Parton, and had a good time at Camel's!
When you saw the Scooby Doo, did you think of the birthday song? "And many more....on channel 4! And Scooby Doo..."
This month, we are heading to Channel 2 Bar (3232 Greyling Drive) on Wednesday, September 23rd, Starting at 5pm!
Keeping with my streak of places with parking, Channel 2 has that and more! We got pool tables, couches, regulars who look at you funny when you walk in, and a ready to serve bartender!
There there is a pool table, a digital jukebox, and a "lounge" if you want to do that! Otherwise there are plenty of TVs for possible Padres games, and plenty of flowing drinks for us!
Plan now to join us on Wednesday, September 23rd, Starting at 5pm to support Channel 2 and
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
CASH or CARDS? Ch. 2 takes both!
PARKING: This is a plaza bar, so parking is plentiful. Always be safe with beverages and driving, however!
FOOD: Channel 2 does not have a kitchen, but there is a cafe and a pizza place nearby and you can bring food in! by @divebarofthemonth

We have landed in Spain. Vigo to be precise. Found the amazing Princesa Bar. Full of tributes to Rock n’ Roll. The music in the bar is fantastic. Shared stickers with the staff. We have earned a place on their wall of fame. Shared Port wine, traditional Spanish shots, and stickers. And political conversations in three languages. It was glorious. Landed at what may be the best bar (for us) in Porto: the Saloon Bar. Of course they have Super Bock. But they have so much more. It’s a neighborhood bar. The walls are covered with post cards from people all over the world. Check out their IG account and you’ll see pics from all over the world with their Saloon Bar stickers. There was definitely a language barrier but we bridged it with gestures, laughter, and a little translation from one of the regulars. It’s a 25 minute walk from our place, and it’s going to be a regular hang out. Thank you Saloon Bar. The hunt for dive bars in Portugal continues. In the meantime, we are enjoying Bar Base Porto. Located on a gentle hill above the fray, this small outdoor venue is sun and breeze filled. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! To these three amazing human beings! Chelsea and Dan (on the left and right) were great at keeping the Dive Bar crew taken care of last night at Lancers. Tom (in the middle) surprised us with delicious bluefin poke he made from freshly caught tuna. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening.
