It’s already been five months since we were in Mexico 🇲🇽

Three weeks full of cave dives, adventures and unforgettable moments. We enjoyed every single minute underwater. The cenotes never stop fascinating us. The crystal clear water, incredible rock formations, light beams and complete darkness create a world that feels completely different from anything above the surface. Every dive brings something new, and that’s exactly what makes exploring these caves so special. 🤿✨

Now we’re wondering when we’ll be diving back into Mexico again. At the moment, we don’t have any flights booked, so we’ll have to wait and see when the next adventure will happen. 😍

Until then, we’ll keep the memories, the photos and of course the anticipation for the next journey into the underground.

Something from Mexico 🇲🇽

TEAMWORK 😍

What is possible when three people work together in a cave?

For this shot, one light assistant was positioned behind the model, creating that beautiful light from behind and separating her from the darkness of the cave.

But there are so many other possibilities. Lights can also be placed deeper inside the cave, around corners or at specific rock formations to create completely different moods and perspectives.

Working as a team gives us much more freedom to experiment with light. At the same time, cave photography becomes more demanding. The deeper we go, the more difficult it can be to position lights, communicate and coordinate everything while staying aware of time, gas and safety.

Shooting with two people can work perfectly too, but it usually means more time, more effort and more things to manage underwater.

That is what I love about cave photography. The final image is not just about the camera. It is about teamwork, communication, creativity and everyone knowing exactly what to do.

The mine fascinates us every time we dive there. On every dive, there are new places to discover and new ways to bring them to life with carefully placed lights. 🤿💡

Getting the lighting just right takes quite a bit of time and teamwork. It’s definitely easier when you’re a team of three or four, making it possible to position the lights exactly where you want them and create the look you have in mind.

That’s a big part of what makes cave diving so fascinating for us. You don’t just discover new places, you can experience them in a completely different way every time. 🖤⚒️💙

Immer wieder ein besonderes Erlebnis, dort abzutauchen. Diesmal hatten wir sogar richtig gute Sicht, was das Fotografieren natürlich noch einmal spannender gemacht hat. 😍

There is something truly special about diving in an old mine. The darkness, the silence, the forgotten tunnels and the feeling of discovering places that very few people get to see.

And doing all of this together as a buddy team makes it even more special. ❤️
