Full houses across Bengaluru, Shivamogga, Heggodu, Mysuru, Chennai and Kottayam.

And reviews that have left us wondering if this should indeed be a Farewell Tour. 😊

After nearly twenty years, Under the Mangosteen Tree still seems to find something new at every venue — a new laugh, a new silence, a new audience discovering the extraordinary world of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.

And now, for the very first time, we are bringing the play to Pune!

Two evenings to share these beautiful, deeply human stories of love, humour, mischief and life with a new audience.

October 3 & 4 | 7 PM
Shreeram Lagoo Rang-avakash, Pune @slr_blackbox

These are the closing shows of this leg of the tour.

If you’ve never met Basheer through Under the Mangosteen Tree, this is your chance.

In association with @atulpethe50 and Natakghar, Pune

KARNATAKA, WE ARE COMING BACK. ONE LAST TIME.

Since Under the Mangosteen Tree first travelled across Karnataka, the play has found a home in its theatres, and among its audiences.

Over the years, we have returned to warm welcomes, generous audiences, heartfelt conversations—and the special sense of connection that comes when a story continues to live beyond the stage.

As we begin the Karnataka chapter of our Farewell Tour, it feels especially meaningful to return to places that have been part of this journey.

📍Rangashankara, Bengaluru
📅 August 20 and 21 - 7.30 PM
August 22 - 3.30 PM and 7.30 PM

Tickets now available via BookMyShow and through the link in our bio.

We return with twenty years of memories, with lives changed by time, and with the same love for Basheer’s world that first brought us together.

📍 Rangayana, Shivammoga
📅 August 26, 7.00 PM

Tickets available at the venue. Reach out to @rangayana_shivamogga for more details.

These stages have held our laughter, our silences, our arguments and our many versions of Basheer’s world.

📍 Ninasam, Heggodu
📅 August 28, 7.00 PM

Tickets available at the venue. Contact @ninasam_heggodu for more information.

Each time we returned, the play found something new — in the audience, in the moment, and in us.

📍 Rangayana, Mysuru
📅 August 30, 6.30 PM

Tickets available at the venue. For more information, contact @rangayana_mysore @mysururangayana

Karnataka, thank you for welcoming us so warmly. We look forward to being with you one last time.

A universal human
'Vaikom' Mohammad Basheer .

(1908–1994), affectionately known as Beypore Sultan, stands out in Indian literature as a figure whose life and writing were inseparable from a deeply humanistic morality. He was a writer who turned his lived suffering, freedom struggles, and decades of wandering into stories marked by profound empathy, humor, and cosmic love.

"So grateful to be part of this beautiful production! Many thanks to @moonoverstillwater for taking me on this journey." by @dj.dharani
