Contrary to what my t shirt said, i definitely played some bangers in this..

Back in my home city and paid a visit to @blooplondon for a 2 hour show. With being back in London, I decided to do a different type of show to what i normally play and honed in on the sounds that really inspired me to get into the rabbit hole of djing/buying records and also just instantly remind of this wonderful city.

Made my way through UKG and some bassy/breaksy stuff before finishing on some dnb.

Some of the records I haven’t played in years and you can tell, as they have more pops and crackles than King Charles.
This is in no way a new direction I’m taking, just felt like something a bit different and a homage to London.

In the lead-up to this Saturday’s get-together at @rumbler_bar, we’re excited to welcome @dj.rondel to the mix series.

London-born and now Melbourne-based, DJ Rondel is a DJ and label owner. Rondels sets move fluidly through house, minimal, tech house and electro, with the occasional UKG or breaks cut woven in as a nod to his roots.

With a strong focus on playing records his mixing is instinctive, shaped entirely by the room and the energy of the night. One moment he’s deep in trippy, chugging minimal, the next he’s pivoting into spacey electro meaning no two sets are ever the same.

An avid digger with a deep collection, Rondel has quickly found his place in Melbourne’s underground scene while launching his imprint, @mudbrain_records. The label’s debut release, MUD001, features three tech house cuts from Ollie Drummond, alongside a standout remix from Jake Beautyman.

On May 23 at Rumbler Bar, Rondel links up with @dasha.sprw for a fresh pairing of talent and carefully curated selections.

Which slide is your fav? Full set, now on YT!

Rondel is a DJ and label owner who made the move from London to Melbourne, bringing with him a sound that refuses to sit still. Drawing from house, minimal, tech house and electro, with the occasional UKG or breaks record dusted off as a nod to his roots.

Instinctive and unscripted, he’ll take you through tunnels of hypnotic, chugging minimal before opening things up into something more spacey and euphoric. Where it goes from there depends entirely on the occasion.

How I’m pulling up to the club this Friday…

Back in the saddle this week with @adventures.of.dogman59 for another b2b… great to be called up to the @bubble.ldn59 @cosmiccastnaarm party, pals of mine doing bits across London and Melbourne. At the new venue @coil.melbourne on chapel, super excited to see and hear it.

Will be warming up the dance floor before prolific tech house Don @darrenroachdj, see you there? taken in Melbourne, Australia by @dj.rondel

The Mudbrain release series launches with ‘Wave Agent EP’ by South London’s Ollie Drummond.

1. Perpetual Moleman
2. Le Goonz (Featuring Jake Beautyman)
3. Wave Agent

‘Perpetual Moleman’ is a layered, peaktime tech house roller. ‘Le Goonz’ which features Jake Beautyman brings sunrise energy with progressive synths and an emotive breakdown. ‘Wave Agent’ is a stripped back loopy house groove that slides effortlessly into warm ups or afters.

Currently this release is only available digitally but there are plans for a vinyl release in the future for the wax heads.

Available now via Bandcamp, link in bio 🧠

Available on wider platforms like Beatport, Spotify and Traxsource on the 27th of March

Well, it’s been quite the hiatus.

We are back to let you know that we have our first release dropping next Friday… 3 tracks of tech housey goodness, straight from South London. This producer has been on fine form in recent years, with releases on Limousine Dream, Wiggle and Palace Trax.

More on that, next week 🧠 by @dj.rondel
