Now it’s your turn!

Join us for a 4-week hands-on course that reclaims the turntables as tools of collective expression. Learn the fundamentals of vinyl mixing, beat matching, crate digging, and how to build your own sound — all in a space that centers community and creativity.

Join us as we honor the revolutionary origins of techno with an open forum on techno’s Black history, a hands-on DJ workshop, and techno afterparty!

Techno was built by Black artists, shaped by Black experiences, and carried forward by innovators pushing sound beyond its limits. This night is about reclaiming techno’s Black, revolutionary history and spirit, bringing people together in collective resistance and joy, giving credit where it’s due, and ensuring that techno’s radical Black roots are never erased.

The night kicks off with an open forum on techno’s history—its birth in Detroit, its deep-rooted Black revolutionary spirit, and how its sound continues to inspire newer generations.

Next, step behind the decks in a hands-on DJ workshop to learn the fundamentals of vinyl mixing - beatmatching, bending time, and keeping the pulse alive.

Then, stick around for an afterparty hosted by Malcolm Flex, spinning his signature Techno Soul sound in homage to techno’s originators — full of rhythm, resistance, and soul.

It's been a refreshing ride slowly getting involved with the music community here, and witnessesing a vibrant underground / alternative scene which I never would have imagined when I left 13 years ago! 🖤
