🎉🥳😭😍🙌 One YEAR of Malakai, say it ain’t so! To our cackling, clapping, cacophonous, curious, creative miracle man, can’t describe how lucky we feel every day with you. May you know always that you are free to be you. May the sparkle in your eyes continue to inspire everyone around you. May you make the world a better place in whatever way you choose. Here’s to the best year yet, we love you infinitely!

P.S. hard to believe where we were one year ago this week 🥹 special shoutout and love to UCSF Mission Bay and the team that saved our lives 🙏🙇‍♀️🥰 by @djadey

From leading the team on the pitch to lifting the trophy at the end of the weekend 🏆🇺🇸

Hear from LIT USA Sevens captain Jade McGrath as she reflects on the team’s experience at Tropical 7s, one of the premier rugby sevens tournaments in North America.

The competition was fierce, the standard was high, and the squad rose to the challenge — ultimately going on to be crowned Women’s Elite Champions. 🔥

A huge thank you to Tropical 7s and GOLS for this fantastic interview and for continuing to showcase the athletes, teams, and stories that make our sport so special.

🎥 Watch the full interview and hear Jade’s thoughts on the tournament, the growth of rugby in the US, and what made this one so special.

This is what it looks like when the next generation meets their future.

Tonight, my daughter Lyra got to be a ball runner at the @wer_gemini home match, and she was one of the FIRST on that field when the final whistle blew, getting autographs and high fives from the womxn who are building professional rugby in this country.

As a youth rugby coach and Lyra’s mom, I have no words for what it means to watch her light up standing next to players like @djadey of the @wer_breakers. These womxn aren’t just athletes. They are proof of what is possible; power centers who leave it all on the pitch, then kiss their spouse post match, and hold their baby next to my baby. 🥰🏉 🫶🏼

To my @hopkinsrugby @eaganrugby athletes who volunteered tonight: you showed up. You showed the little ones in the stands what showing up looks like when you’re a youth flag rugby player. That matters more than you know. Those two and three year olds cheering for their Aunties and Moms they want to be ball runners like you one day. To the parents and guardians who were on the field helping your ball runners you are amazing!

This is why we do it. This is the whole point. Building community one player and one generation at a time. @rugbyevolved @wrcrarugby #WomensEliteRugby #everyonewatcheswomenssports #professionalrugby #representationmatters taken in Viking Lakes by @djadey
