You are it before you become it.

When you have a consistent vision, it means that’s exactly what you need to be doing. I saw myself behind the decks long before I ever touched one. I weirdly had a passion for it before I had learned anything. I finally started to pursue it a year ago and I understand why that vision was so clear. The fire I have for DJing is untameable.

People tend to make the mistake by saying they are not IT until they’ve accomplished IT. I called myself a DJ before playing my first gig. Having the confidence to embody it is what will attract success. DRE has always existed in me and everyday I learn how to embody that version of myself more and more. Even if people looked at me in disbelief when I said “I’m a DJ” or others said “yeah whatever you’re just another DJ in this world of DJs.” Deep down I know who the fuck I am, and that’s what matters.

So embody who you want to be. You don’t need permission and you don’t need to prove yourself to be it. Just be.

There you have it, the first of many!

"DÉTOUR ⬆️ Story" Baby!

Couldn't start on a better note than with the magical human and soul @djdre.33 , thank you so much for being so vulnerable and sharing with us your DÉTOURS, I am pretty sure your story will inspire generations to come. ❤️‍🔥

You said so many beautiful things, mental health aka "Inner world" is where everything begins, "as within, as without" the more we take care of it, the better our journey will be 🫡 how can we flow if we are stuck inside?

Thank you for trusting me with the lens, and also thank you to @fro.less the creator of @microrave.ca for putting us all together, this wouldn't have happened without you Fro, thank you so much for the Trust bro 🙏🏼

“DÉTOUR ⬆️ Story”
Is where I put my skills to shine, storytelling, filmmaking, editing, I love it! my goal is to improve Story by Story, little by little, not striving for perfection but consistency and improvement.

I hope this short doc, resonates with you some how and you can get some golden nuggets for your journey, as I said!

#wegouptogether

See you at the top! ⬆️😎

Shotout to the graffiti artist @dredaymtl for inspiring DRE 😉🙌

Your self-work matters more than their comfort.

What is your self-work?

Art ain’t meant to be perfect.

When I finally let go of perfection, that’s when my style really shined through. People believe they aren’t good at art but there’s no such thing. We all have our own styles it’s just about figuring out what your way is. When I paint, I love to just go for it without thinking too much and trusting my intuition. My art is all about imperfections. What’s amazing is you won’t see my art anywhere else as it’s truly authentic to me. Giving yourself the space to just do without expectation gives you the opportunity to start and share what you do. With time, it’ll only get better and better. Use this mentality as a way to see yourself as well. Once you let go of perfection, your authentic self will shine through more and more. Let yourself cry in front of others, make mistakes, laugh louder, wear colours, just express yourself.
