About 10.5 months ago, I went into the operation room to remove what I thought was a ganglion cyst. Upon opening my hand, the doctors realized that the tendon on my thumb was frayed. I had a complete repair and construction of the tendon, which resulted in me being out for the offseason/indoor season.

I opened my season in March of 2025, being back at 19m (19.27m). Its crazy how fast I managed to bounce back (although it was quite painful and tiring) to be back at 19 meters on average and one throw close to my PR this year (20.24m). God is the greatest at all times, and I am happy with what I’ve accomplished this year.

I’m not posting for the likes, just here to share my story. When you feel like giving up, keep going, stay motivated,it’s okay to start over…someone is always watching 🙏🏾 by @djimon.gumbs

Blessed to have been able to compete in my first Tucson Elite/USATF Throws Festival 🌵. Great energy and atmosphere, and a fun time competing with old friends. It wasn’t easy but managed some decent tosses. Back to work for the next one >>> 😀 taken in Tucson, Arizona by @djimon.gumbs
