Thank you to everyone who joined us for Divine Design for Demigods: Behind the Costumes! ⚡🏛️ The panel explored the creativity and collaboration behind creating a world of heroes, monsters, and mythology through costume design, from developing character identities to bringing a fantastical universe to life through every detail.

Special thanks to panelists Catherine Adair, David Matwijkow, Daniel Mahler Landman, Tannis Hegan, and Zoë Neary, with moderation by Erica Ito of the Seaweed Brain Podcast.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2 premieres today, Dec. 10. CDG members Catherine Adair, costume designer, and David Matwijkow, assistant costume designer, rose to the quiet yet ambitious challenges required for the series’ second season. 🗡️

“Each book in the series is quite a different adventure, so the design challenges are also different.

The joy and the challenge were the range and diversity of the design. All the creatures and characters were practical this season, none were CGI. In addition to our young contemporary heroes, we created eight-foot giants, sirens, a cyclops, a fleet of undead sailors from different time periods, pirates, three old hags with one eye between them, furies, and a spar inspired by Greek mythology and Art Nouveau.”

Hollywood Swap Meet starts TOMORROW! Presented by: IATSE, Hollywood Basic Crafts and Motion Picture & Television Fund!

For Saturday’s sale ONLY we will have a taco truck by Tacos Chicanx, coffee truck by A Quality Bean and a DJ to kick-off the 3-day sale. The sale will continue Sunday and Monday from 10AM – 3PM each day.

For the past month, Hollywood’s Costumer Designers, Costumers & the Behind-the-Camera Hollywood Crew have been operating a donation site and clothing pick-up for community members impacted by the recent devasting wildfires. This weekend, this curated shopping experience will be OPEN TO MEMBERS and the GENERAL PUBLIC for a Hollywood Swap Meet Sale. Everything MUST go!

Items will be priced at: $1, $5, $10 or $15 for Women, Men, Children, and Infants.

There will also be a specialty (and reasonably priced) BOUTIQUE SECTION.

All funds raised by way of this event will directly support Hollywood Crewmembers who have been impacted by the fires.

Clothing for sale has been generously donated by Studio Stock, Hollywood Productions, Annette Bening, Reba McEntire, Dressed in LALA Carhart & many more!

Whenever there are sports uniforms involved it’s imperative to get it right. Every detail has to be correct or you will certainly hear about it! #clippedfx was a deep dive into the NBA circa 2013. Not only did we recreate the Los Angeles Clippers game uniforms, but their practice gear as well. In addition to the Clippers we made 5 more NBA teams to play against them and fan gear for the crowds. A big shout out to our fantastic crew for helping pull all of this off, and for keeping it straight over 5 days of non stop shooting of game after game. @cate.adair as always you handle everything with grace and precision.
