Very excited to be playing @rave.om.ecstaticdance in two weeks! Really appreciate the opportunity to play quite a different type of set to some lovely folks at an awesome venue.

This is my first time playing an event like this, and I've had such a fun time putting my set together. As well as digging around for some music I love but might not normally play - and downloading a bunch of really cool new stuff - it has also been an interesting process of, not un-learning exactly, but certainly resisting my usual DJ-ing approach. I'm generally very much about lots of tunes, fast mixes, mashups, silly blends that go on for a while, double drops and the like. Partly because of the types of gigs I usually do, but also probably a consequence of d'n'b being my first love as a raver!

So I've been mindful to steer away from those impulses, not just picking tunes that need space to breathe, but actually giving them that space in the mix, and approaching transitions from more of a narrative / emotional perspective, rather than obsessing over BPMs. I'm still fine tuning it, but I'm really pleased with the musical journey I've put together, and I'm really looking forward to sharing it.

Spring / summer season has been a blast - 72 gigs in just 26 weeks, from Dorset to London to Brighton to Cardiff to Nottingham and pretty much every where in between!
Loads of highlights, but it’s been particularly satisfying to see our @the_disco_ceilidh grow and develop this year, @greenmanfest (with @greenpartyzack on the dancefloor) @thebigfeastival, @shambalafest were all brilliant alongside loads of lovely private parties and weddings - lots of exciting stuff in the pipeline for the next 12 months.
Having my Mum, Dad, Ada, sister Clare & Matilda all at @wildernesshq alongside my @villagecircus family was so epic, and they all loved it so much. Our Ibiza Brass show with all of them on the dancefloor was pretty special, something I will never forget.
Overall though I definitely put too much pressure on myself, and all the gigs and driving, prep and logistics, and ridiculously long days put an enormous strain on both myself and the family, and I’m making some changes for 2027 to bring a better balance to my work / life set up!
Next big thing on the horizon is our biggest @the_disco_ceilidh performance so far - hosting the after party at @batterseaparklondon Fireworks in front of over 2,000 people - more deets to come!

We are stoked to welcome @djstefmo to come and craft his first Ecstatic Dance journey.
An excellent dj on the festival circuit at some of the most loved festival activations at Shambala and Wilderness and Neuro-inclusive @disconeurotico he brings a love of music and wealth of knowledge to our dance floor.

DJ Stef Mo is a genre-fluid party DJ based in Bristol. Currently resident with the Club House and Shambolympics, and previously resident with neuro-inclusive events company Disco Neurotico, Stef specialises in high-energy sets incorporating lots of different styles, edits and unexpected mashups, all delivered with a big grin and sometimes a red top hat.

“I’m so delighted to have been invited to play at Rave Om Ecstatic Dance. Because of the type of gigs I generally do － festivals, weddings and the like － I’m often in a space where I’m focusing on keeping the energy right up with endless bangers. And that’s a lot of fun! But it doesn’t leave much room for nuance, for letting tunes breathe, for maybe bringing the energy down at certain points, or throwing in interesting curveballs. So I’m really looking forward to digging deep, bringing out some music I rarely play but that means a lot to me, and constructing a narrative that takes the dancefloor on more of a journey. Though there will still be plenty of energy!”

Had a blast on Saturday playing a wedding at @circomedia - fab venue, lovely people and loads of fun incorporating lots of musical silliness. Not many gigs where you get to play Stevie Wonder, the Legend of Zelda theme and a load of rinsing jungle (and a few seconds of MMMBop - iykyk)

Festivals are over, so I am available for DJ gigs! (Though if you are booking for 2027 festivals I am also available for those)

Whether it's a wedding, a private birthday party, an ecstatic dance event, a dinner dance for older folks, a neurodivergent friendly club night or a drag brunch (all of which I've either played or am scheduled to play!), I've got the tunes, the equipment and the experience. And a growing list of glowing reviews! I'm also polite and turn up on time.

I particularly love working collaboratively with a client to find creative ways of personalising their party, such as bespoke introductions for special guests, musical games, and fun unexpected interludes to keep the dancefloor guessing.

Blimey. What a weekend.

I first came to @shambalafest as a punter in 2009, and have had many wonderful, messy times there over the years. So it feels incredibly special to be able to contribute to that wonderful messiness now as part of the Shambolympics - I love working with the @villagecircus team, with @kevincampbelldavidson and @robin_clyfan and @mymatekatedj and @house.of.dinosaur and @djmax_galactic and so many other like-minded head cases, from our playmakers to our build crew to our caterers, what a gang to be part of.

It's a hell of a lot of work, especially on a weekend as soggy as this year, but seeing all the teams and the audience going absolutely feral with joy in the rain and the sun and the mud makes it all worth it and then some. Playing costume bingo for the carnival was a magical, wholesome highlight of the weekend (as was selecting increasingly filthy dnb to soundtrack an increasingly filthy bride swan diving into an increasingly filthy paddling pool - we contain multitudes).

Well done everyone, it was a privilege once again! See you next year x
