My heart goes out to the late Jeffrey Newman and Jayson Conner, and to everyone who loved them. I didn’t know them personally, but their work meant the world to me and to the literal thousands of lives they touched before, during, and after COVID.

Gone too soon. They taught us how to give selflessly and love unconditionally. The community they built to feed and shelter New Yorkers when it mattered most will outlast all of us.

What a night! 🌈 ✨ Last night, we gathered at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center (theee birthplace of the modern queer rights movement) and invested in the future for FPP’s inaugural QUEER YOUTH 1ST!

In one evening, our incredible community of supporters, donors, family, and friends helped us fund 12 young queer creative futures through our Future Perfect 50 campaign.

That’s 12 young people whose voices will be amplified, supported, and celebrated.

🌺 We were moved by Lily Mueller (@wednesdayblooms ), FPP alum, recent college grad, and living proof of what happens when you believe in young queer artists. And then @faesymphony of @futureperfectrecords delivered a stunning performance and took the room to a whole other level.

THIS is what The Future Perfect Project does. We don’t just celebrate queer youth. We invest in them.

🙏 Thank you to @stonewallvisctr for welcoming us into your space with such warmth and generosity.

This Pride, help us invest in 50 young LGBTQ+ artists. That’s 50 creative voices the world desperately needs to hear!

The Future Perfect Project is a national arts nonprofit for LGBTQ+ youth. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ We give young people the creative tools, the space, the mentorship, and audience to become exactly who they already are.

What an inspiring week spent with our partners in the Coalition for LGBTQ+ Youth. ♥️

This new collective brings together youth-serving organizations committed to supporting and protecting LGBTQ+ young people at a moment when that support is more important than ever. We’re beginning to lay the groundwork for how the coalition will operate — from our internal structure to the initiatives we hope to launch together in the months ahead.

Years from now, when people ask what we did when the U.S. government pulled back funding and support for some of the most vulnerable young people, I hope the answer is clear: we showed up for each other and for the youth who need us most.

We’re excited to announce ✨David Artavia has joined The Future Perfect Project as our new Executive Director.

A longtime leader in LGBTQ+ storytelling — including roles as Editor-in-Chief of Out and The Advocate and senior reporter at Yahoo News — David brings deep experience at a pivotal moment for LGBTQ+ youth.

We’re also grateful to ✨Ryan Amador, FPP co-founder and former Executive Director, who now steps into the role of Director of Production.
