So excited to get my hands on @frictionseries’ newest collection a smidge early! This issue is pure magic — lush art, twisted tales, and a whole lot of wonder. I couldn’t be prouder of the phenomenal pieces in this issue, the stunning illustrations and art direction, and my brilliant team of editors who spend months (and sometimes years!) helping our incredible authors bring these works to life.

Swipe for early sneak peeks, and don’t miss the flip-through video at the end. 🍄📖

What an absolutely stupendous day filming with our Frames Youth class. It was such a pleasure to have @noraunkel and @devoneifel’s team come in to capture the magic of these storytelling courses for their upcoming documentary about Brink!

A special shoutout to @j.workin23–who had his first day as a Frames instructor captured on film (no pressure)—and our many amazing teachers and students digging into their own stunning personal narratives and how their stories can impact #criminaljusticereform, #education, #comicbooks, #empathy, #literacy, and the world as we know it!

Photo credits to our amazing student @jins.exhibition!

CLOSE UPS!

For our upcoming #unseen cover, @sanatakeda_art snuck in SO MANY cool, hidden treasures! Check out all the intricate creatures creeping out of the cityscape, including a wee homage to marjorie_liu and Sana’s groundbreaking #Monstress comic (because who doesn’t want to follow a three-tailed cat into the depths of the city?!?!).

All these creatures will be printed in spotgloss, literally “unseen” until your book hits the light just right!

What an utter JOY to have the Brink team converge for the Stand Together summit.

With @emilyb_h traveling from New Zealand, @artofedge coming from Vancouver, and dear @hailrenarts jumping over from Pennsylvania, the convergence of staffers was epic!

Can’t wait to do it all again soon! by @dmhedlund

It seems utterly mad that we turned in the files to our printer way back in December, but we’ve finally, finally survived the 6 months of Covid shutdowns, and we couldn’t be happier about this final demo round!

The new foiling technique is so stunning, thicker card stock is ABSOLUTELY <chef kiss>, and the color of the card art is rich and bright and moody in ALL THE RIGHT WAYS.

Huge thank you to our amazing backers, our incredible authors, and our badass artists!

Hope you enjoy this little sneak peak of @magicians-book’s #macbeth card, @dchaon’s #phantomoftheopera card, and @ssnyder1835’s #mostdangerousgame card!

Now, off to final production we go! WEEEEEEEE!

@charm_illustrations, @bradleyaclayton, @artofedge, @the.flightless.artist, and @anonbeadraws!

SO EXCITED to show off these demo videos from our printer for the #literarytarot!

This project combines all my dream printing techniques, from #holographic #gold foil on the card backs to pressed foil on vegan leather for the Collector’s Guidebook.

Check out all these gorgeous #tarot cards, enamel pins, and swanky books!

Now to check the fedex tracking page every three minutes to see when these demos make it to my door! Can’t wait!

How am I ever going to make this #tarot deadline if I can’t stop watching this book turn around and around!?!?

So excited about this cover for our big guidebook for the #literarytarot!

It’s been a dream of mine to make a book with TWO foils stamped into vegan leather WITH gilded edges AND interior foil.

@hailrenarts totally killed this design for our #tarot book and I cannot wait to hold it in my hands! WEEEEEE!

So excited to share the art progress for @kellysued’s AMAZING #literarytarot pairing.

Taking up the mantle of the #kingofswords (quills for our deck!), @kellysued paired this iconic card with Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations.

As a #tarot expert, Kelly Sue even jumped in to help #artdirect with me, helping @the.flightless.artist add in some traditional tarot imagery (like the butterflies and blue cloak)!

For anyone who wants to snag a deck (and support our nonprofit educational work), our Kickstarter is in its last week!

Curious how we brought @marjorie_liu’s incredible pairing to life for the #literarytarot?

Here’s a look at @the.flightless.artist’s process, from concept thumbs all the way to the finished #goldfoil card.

For the #queenofswords (light in our renaming!), @marjorie_liu selected the #epicpoem #beowulf, zooming in on Grendel’s mother as our queen!

To snag your own deck, the #kickstarter is live now. Link in my bio!

What an honor to bring the #LiteraryTarot pairing of one of my favorite authors to life!

@levgrossman selected Le Morte d'Arthur as his classic for our special #tarot project, brilliantly pairing it with the #worldcard.

Here’s an in-depth look at how @charm_illustrations brought his vision into the world (pun indented).

We are LIVE on #kickstarter right now. Link in bio!
